No joystick or gamepad detected

I am trying to use an Official xbox 360 wired controller, the only problem is when i open the console it says "no joysticks or gamepads detected"
Any help Appreciated

Having been asked at least 3 times, you still never answered if the controller was plugged in *before* the game was even launched. If the controller is plugged in once BeamNG.exe is already running the although the player 1 LED comes on the game wont recognise it (except on experimental where it does apparently work regardless of when plugged in although I havent had success with that).

You havent pissed about with any inputmaps? The controller is supported natively.

 

I've run Beamng with the controller plugged in before starting the game, plugged in at the menu screen, and plugged in when in the game, still says no joystick or gamepad found.
No inputmaps have been pissed with.

Ive got it to work!!!
I went into control panel and then selected device manager, then there was another devices tab, right clicked on the controller and then installed driver software from there.
i am sooooo happy!!!
