paid mods my opinion

over 10 yo I played a game called virtual sailor and Micro flight those games thrived on them

I believe that paid mods are taking over the modding community, I have noticed a significant lack of good, let alone any car mods. All of these good car mods are either forum-only (which I respect) or Paid mods. Now I understand paid early access, but I feel that a completely paid mod is "cancer". I might accept paid mod packs, but just one car for 3$ or more seems like a stretch to me. Think about it, FH5 and other car games have these car packs where 1 car is about equal to 1$. Now I understand Beam.NG is more complicated, but mods used to be passion projects for all to enjoy, not financial endeavors.

 

Greed knows no bounds good sir; grant a servant a taste of power, and suddenly they desire the entire world.

Add-ons are a service to the community and developers. If authors seek such as a profession, they would travel considerably farther authoring their own title. But alas, the such authors here are too weak to envision more than meagre profits foundationally based upon the works of others.
Their personal armies of fawning children will soon descend upon this thread to spew the usual assortment of agitational remarks.

In the real life people pay me for my services. I also know how much time and effort goes into making cars/maps for Beam, so I understand some people asking for a small kickback for their efforts.

Interestingly enough the vast majority of people disagreeing with this have never made a mod of any significance whatsoever, and most likely have never tried.

 

To be fair, Winrar did make a scenario mod in 2016

 

If we're going to hurl around insults, this is simultaneously the most pretentious and ignorant assessment of paid mods I've seen yet.

I think paid mods are fine. I don't have a problem with paying them for their hard work and time that's put into high quality mods. What I don't like is lazy paid mods. Those are just not good

The funny thing is... the agitational remarks are because of your 18th-century pish posh talking style, that nobody who plays BeamNG understands.

 

That is my exact opinion, 3-5 usd for a high quality mod is fine, 20 bucks for a lazy meshslap in not.
