So... First beta release is here. ---------- Keep in mind - its beta version, and not all may works as it expected. Download: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1VKBTf1-M6dD9uEqnqvsmqX0UL9rb5dxW Some screenshots: JBEAM: Knowing issues: 1. Differences in weight with the real prototype by approximately 500 kg. 2. Slight instability of floor jbeam (in hard crash cases). 3. Lack of floor (I mean jbeam) in the rear part of the body. 4. The UV for skins is a little bit strange, I recommend using Substaice Painter or Blender for skin making. 5. Mirrors reflection is broken. Technically they exist, but work not as it need to work. 6. The central door and the access hatch to its rail cannot be openned at same time. What I planned to make next: 1. Bugs/issues fixes. 2. LED route advisors implementation (at this moment - as simple texture). 3. Repository release. 4. Adding more additional tuning parts / more skins / more features. 5. Adding facelifts based on real Hino/ISUZU/MMC busses. Special thanks to: BeamNG Team - for DT40L jbeam; EJY, igor06krups, justbewilde - for early alpha testing; ATV75 - for some technical consultations; CYCJoseph - for central door JBEAM; jfef - for realistic headlight and foglight light pattern textures; NS_Pro - for help with lua; komeya7 - for real prototype photos and help with japanese text;
Finally, something ike this drops before I turn off my PC! (Even before I turn it on too) I’ll try giving some feedback later
All the functionality of this bus is super impressive, and the texture work in the interior is incredibly well put together. I appreciate how much of the labeling is crisp and readable and the how fonts seem to be appropriate, it's these kind of details like that that go a long way to make the vehicle rather believable. Super excited to see where this goes!
i'm so happy you released it already, it looks amazing the only 2 problems i have with this release is that there is no driver camera which is sad because the interior is beautiful (but at least the relative camera is there) second problem i have is that the windshield has weird reflections on it otherwise still a super nice mod!! once these two things get fixed i can throw the wentward away
Glad to finally see a release on this! Loving it so far However there's a few issues that would be nice to see addressed -Driver camera uses the standard camera type instead of the driver specific one where you can look over your shoulders - the jbeam for this appears to be all there in the files but is missing the line with the actual camera itself (these are called "dash" inside standard jbeam files, shouldn't be too had to find one on another vehicle for reference) -PBR materials aren't set up properly - there's a specific naming scheme that makes the game read them properly that isn't used here. Most materials should have .data before the file extension while normal maps should have .normal - this is a basic overview though so let me know if you want the specifics -Light on textures use the old glow system instead of the new PBR emissives/bloom which looks tons better and is the current supported system. I can help with this one too if needed -Glowmaps appear to be set up wrong, only the side lights come on on low beams and the standard headlights/taillights/interior lighting only come on on high beams. Glowmap setup is a mess so I can't really understand how it's set up like this, unsure if its intentional (which seems like a weird choice imo) -JR skin seems to be way too bright, not really a mod issue I just think the colour choices for it are a bit bright compared to the irl JR colours -Arcade gearbox mode cannot drive it properly, transmission may need some tweaking to make it usable (cannot go up or down in gear by itself) -Wheel materials seem too dark, and the ao maps too which means they turn into black voids whenever in slight shadow -No proper "intglass" parts for the glass (i think), instead you can see the outside reflections as it just uses the exterior glass material on the inside -Materials for the headlight indicators looks a bit weird compared to taillight materials, normal maps are not really visible The mirrors not working properly is a beamng thing, in that the game simply does not support proper reflections for them. Not your fault and not much you can do there, we're all used to it anyway Other than my nitpicking its a great start though, cannot wait for future updates
The lighting may seem a bit weird in a few places (says the guy on low settings), but generally the mod is very cool! I especially love the dash and gauges, as well as the swinging holding things on the inside. Also, a snowman can fit into the doors, although bus mods are clearly not made for snowmen and I don’t rate them for that, just wanted to point it out The camera issue has already been pointed out, so I won’t mention it, but is the 1st gear really meant to be redlining so fast? I’m no bus expert, and so far I only tested the normal 5MT config, so I dunno if it’s intentional.
This is actually amazing for what it is. I cant wait for future improvements to make this even better.
absolutely love it. another quality addition to my London themed collection some euro white and yellow number plates would be wonderful
Nice to see another bus in BeamNG. I'd like to see European plates and LHD configurations, too. Great work out there! Clear cache maybe?
I'm having an issue with the download, I didn't get to take a screenshot but the game gave me a warning of "invalid file" or something along those lines. I just put it in my mods folder like any other mod. --- Post updated --- It came up again after clearing cache, it read "invalid zip file" and it did this for both the main mod and the skin pack
I don't know why but which one do you download the mod in the google drive when i download it when i put it in my mod folder it doesn't show in my beamng can you please give a guide on how?
SAME WITH ME IT WORK BUT WITH NO TEXTURES CLEARED THE CACHE AND I TRY SPAWN IT AND MY CAR STARTS TO FLY AROUND THE MAP
Just retry downloading it again, it happened the same thing to me but I tried it twice and it worked fine afterwards. And if it doesn't work again then Idk what's the problem. Just make sure the zip.file name for the main mod is "JAero_1.0b" only and not "JAero_1.0b0349080bse0394dv9x0" something something
If I remember correctly it make sense only if used ingame texture cooker or I am wrong? Well, technically highbeam(default in BeamNG) here is lowbeam(in mod). And yes, its intentional choice (because afaik on real Isuzu Erga is possible to turn on highbeam separetly from lowbeam). Yes, I know. I have AO remake in "to do". To be honest - headlight textures (glowmaps also) is nightmare for me, because its look differently in SP, blender and beamNG and its feels like I tries to find a needle in a haystack (I mean materials setting in SP(for headlights/taillights glasses)/bake settings in blender (for glowmaps)).
