I'm not sure what much to say, I'll quickly drop some quick basic specs. R95900x MSI RTX 3080 Suprim X 4x8 3600MHZ Corsair Vengeance Pro WD Black SN_850X 1TB x 2 So I decided to play some beamng for the first time in a while and noticed that my game was really sluggish and almost heavy feeling. on the normal launcher I get alright FPS I guess. But I noticed my CPU utilization is really low.. like almost Idle levels low, does anyone know why? and as for the other launcher (Vulkan) that was.. a disgusting experience I never wish to experience again.. I launched it and got an amazing 20FPS Avg. My GPU UTIL goes max and my CPU goes up 4-5% and I end up losing most fps. I haven't maxed out on RAM. Could it be my GPU's VRAM reaching its limit..? Maybe MOD-count-sucking performance? I'd appreciate any insight on this. (Sorry for alot of questions im very tired atm and my brain is off) VULKAN Launcher ^ (ITALY + 1 Really Detailed Car) Normal Launcher ^ (ITALY + 1 Really Detailed Car)
Couple things here. First of all, bring up the CTRL SHIFT F window, it's Beam's internal detailed resource monitor. The limiting component will flash in white there For Vulkan, try how it runs with medium texture and lighting settings. Should run same or better than DirectX with same settings there. Usual stuff: BIOS up to date, RAM running in XMP, balanced power plan selected, GPU driver up to date? Resolution? To check if mods are the issue, launch game in save mode, which creates a temp new profile for that session
(with all mods is the Screnshot with the Audi the one on safe mode & no mods is with the rock crawler) uh sorry for the long reply i though nobody replied so i just gave up on the forum but this is the internal menu you mentioned (The dip was me tabbing out) every bios is always up to date i know that my ram is on xmp i alr know that. I run every game at 1440p This was using safe mode i was getting about 20fps more with the same ultra 1440p settings with the same map.
its just beamng Vulkan.. its been unstable for like 2.5 years?? some setups get like double the fps, some don't. my old pc ran at 5 fps on it, while my new pc doubled in fps from 120 to 250. just use dx11, if you're cpu bound, then the answer off the bat is to upgrade. you can very well thank the devs for not optimizing the game a decade ago.
