Continuing the off topic discussion, but there really was some great stuff around that era for those of us who like quirky vehicles. That thing is actually reminiscent of a fair number of 1960's COE's (GMC Crackerbox, Ford H-Series, International Sightliner, Dodge L1000, etc....). Day cab COE semi trucks in the 1960's were just weird like that, tall and skinny compared to the more iconic designs of the 1980's. Even the dualies on the front isn't that crazy for mid 20th century trucks; you can see that once in awhile in photos of US army trucks from WWII and into the postwar era.
That is fair enough, but thankfully, the devs already have a way bigger sample size for how many updates have come with major vehicle-related content in the past 5 years. -0.15: Piccolina -0.16: eSBR -0.17: Bluebuck -0.17.1: Grand Marshal remaster -0.18: D/H/Roamer remaster part 1 -0.18.3: Hopper Crawler -0.19: FCV + D/H/Roamer remaster part 2 -0.20: Roamer remaster part 3 (plus updates for the D/H-Series) -0.21: D-Series remaster part 3/Covet refresh -0.22: Wendover + LeGran remaster -0.23: Wigeon + Pigeon remaster -0.24: '96 Pessima remaster + H-Series remaster part 3 -0.24.1: Bastion + Bolide remaster -0.25: Scintilla -0.26: Covet remaster -0.27: Dunekicker, Rockbasher, Wydra, Stambecco, Autobuggy -0.28: K/800 "refresh" -0.29: Lansdale + Gambler configurations -0.30: Aurata + new trailers That is a seriously impressive streak, considering that between 0.8 and 0.15 (a span of two years), the devs only released four new vehicles (the LeGran (0.8), Hopper (0.9), Wentward (0.12), and Piccolina (0.15)). In that time period, the other vehicles mostly got only minor additions to them (like skin UVs, nitrous, and a couple new parts - although the SBR was the first to get its proportions reworked in 0.14). I think 0.14 was the last update that didn't have anything major vehicle-wise, and that came out in October of 2018. Unless the devs tease a surprise vehicle (or vehicle remaster) this Tuesday, I'm gonna assume the T-Series remaster is the intended major vehicle content for 0.31. I can't imagine the devs would break a streak that long, especially not when a T-Series remaster would work very nicely with the new trailer(s) and improvements to delivery gameplay in the Laborer branch of the career mode.
I hope they'll be some variant with very low cabin, near the D-series but with a truck frame, like GMC did.
What if we get a wentward remaster? Because the Interior is very low resolution. And it has got openable panels somewhere in 0.30.2. maybe we get a bus and truck remaster?
Now that you mention it, 0.24 and 0.27 both had a large amount of content, and both were December updates (also, 0.21 included the Phase 2 D-series remaster and prerunner, the JRI remaster, and the WCUSA update that added all the highway tunnels.) This appears that they're generally working to make the December updates the largest, at least in terms of front-end content. Matching the amount of work required to the pessima/van/bolide remasters and bastion release, or to the autobuggy/rockbasher/dunekicker/wydra/stambecco, (maybe even include the aurata considering it was originally planned for 0.27), I'd liken the workload of a T-series remaster to the bolide remaster. Yes, there are a lot of parts to a semi, but a lot of them are modular or minor variations, and the bolide had a ground-up structural rework in meshes and Jbeam, along with its own distinct variants. A trailer is a lot simpler overall than a typical car, though perhaps comparable to the Rockbasher or Wydra. This does suggest that the T-series won't be the only non-trailer that we'll be getting, as while they could have just used the remaining time for tons of new and remastered semi trailers, it would seem strange to have so many trailers and only one type of truck to pull them.
hmm, I think it might get the engine remodeled, since they probably want to use the bus's TCM engine in the lighter versions of the T-series, and we already know they've remodeled the TCX engine from the chassis teaser.
We've only had 3 teasers since the last update. It doesn't feel enough for the release to be that close, but I could be wrong
