Did you have any luck in resolving the issue?

I'm still having the same problem.
    All Vanilla. All updated.

safe mode sometimes temporarily fixes it.

It's definitely still present. What I noticed, is that the spikes in the FPS part of the graph were jumping from high to low values. But there was a pattern. In my case now, I have a 165Hz display (I've started using a monitor, that is set to 120Hz as my primary display instead of my laptop screen), and the FPS values were jumping from 120 to 60 FPS, repeatedly, with vsync on. Before, when I was using my laptop screen (60Hz), it would jump from 60 to 30 FPS. So it almost seemed as if vsync was causing the FPS limit to rapidly switch between your screen's refresh rate, and half of your screen's refresh rate (I'm just guessing here).

    But I've found a workaround:
What I did was disable Vsync in-game and disabled the in-game FPS limiter. I also disabled both Vsync and the FPS limiter in the Nvidia Control Panel for the BeamNG executable. This seems to have fixed the issue, albeit now I have to deal with screen tearing. Either way, screen tearing is better than low FPS in my opinion, so that's how I'm leaving it. Again though, the issue may still be happening and I'm just not noticing, but overall, I've noticed an improvement in average FPS when I did this, and no more spikes (at least when I look at the performance graph). Hope this helped!

Is anything maxed out (CPU, GPU, RAM, VRAM)? You can check by pressing Ctrl + Shift + F to open the performance graph (or use task manager)... If you can, could you post a screenshot of the graph?

I tried turning off the fps limiter and vsync, in-game and in the Nvidia settings.

    Did not fix my issue.
    40fps max solo.
15fps max on Hirochi derby, 9 cars, Ultra.
50% CPU usage. 35% GPU usage.

I then deep cleaned cache and ran in Safe Mode.

    120fps constant solo!
50-70fps on Hirochi derby with 9 cars on Ultra.
    66% CPU usage.
    66% GPU usage.

Fans spin up, but nothing is getting too hot.

I then created a new user folder, deselected the move data checkbox.

    120fps solo.
Sparked up the Hirochi 9 car derby..
back down to 15fps, 50% cpu etc.

I'm lost. Seems to be an issue with the game itself.

Just to be clear... Do you have a laptop 1650 or a desktop 1650?

looks like my i5-3470 is maxed, any way to still have good gameplay but less cpu util?

desktop 1650, it's low profile if that may help

this cpu worked fine with older versions, maybe without pbr.

Hmm, can you try Vulkan maybe? See if that makes any difference...
Also, try to minimize the amount of programs running in the background if possible...

No, no vulkan is the same. Only default apps and two other apps open: the msi afterburner fps thing, and the geforce experience app

I dont think its an issue with directx or vulkan

also, wasn't there a cpu performance in beamng?

In that case there might not be much you can do... Have you checked temperatures though?

Do you have a screenshot of the performance graph by any chance?

    laptop
    ryzen 5 4600H
    GTX 1660ti
    32GB ram

    tried this all again.
Deep cleaning + Safe Mode is the only way I can get it to it's full potential.

That's very weird... All of your specs are better than mine, yet I don't see any real FPS issues with my PC.

Judging by how it works better in safe mode, It seems like it's either something to do with the games settings, or mods (if you have any).

It might just be because of the cpu-gpu combo
    --- Post updated ---
I havent tried safe mode yet
    --- Post updated ---
even in safe mode it is still at 10 fps

I see that the GPU is the bottleneck. That indicates that the graphics settings are probably too high for your specs. I have the laptop 1650, and can run the game at reasonable framerates at low-mid settings. See what happens if you use the "low" graphics quality preset.

Also what is your VRAM usage at? Is it maxed out?
It almost seems like your game is capped at 10 FPS... Is there any cap in-game or in Nvidia Control Panel?
