Nope, haven't bought a new game this year, last game I got was GTA V on PS3. Still play GTA San Andreas, Half Life 1, Warzone2100, etc. to this day. My aspect ratio remark is perfectly valid, all of the screenshots you post are really flat looking, simple observation. If you're to lazy to install some widescreen stuff then don't act surprised when I mention it looking wrong :|

    This guy again.
"You don't get to tell me which anarchist to listen to. I'm my own man, man. I listen to and blindly follow whoever I want, because I'm an individual. I am independent, and have absolutely no sense of irony. Yeah."
Sums you up pretty good. I guess you're into self deprecating humor.

Newer is usually better, doesn't mean old is bad though. Other than a few game franchises that just go down the crapper (usually hit AAA games), they just get better. Also playing 4:3 games on a 16:9 screen is awful. At least run it in a window.

    Jokes mate, you get them?

Warning, strong language in the video

I'll run the games in 1920x1440 or 2048x1532 from now on. Both are 4:3.

Actually it's a good idea to set your monitor to centre the picture rather than stretch it. You'll get a black edge on the sides, but the aspect ratio will be fine.
Or just get an old CRT to play with :p

Thing is, I play on a 4:3 LCD from late 2005. So the gameplay looks fine, but the screens come out stretched in 1080p (since the games are meant for 4:3 resolutions) Changing the internal res will sort that out. That 1920x1920 monitor actually looks pretty damn nice.

Why do you take wide screenshots on a 4:3 screen?
Also god no, 1:1 is awful.

Well it depends what you are doing, if you spend a lot of time editing documents then it is probably fairly useful. By the time you fit all of the Windows and Word toolbars onto it you will probably be left with a 4:3 workspace anyway :p
Personally i think 16:10 is the best for most people who don't consume video, play more hardcore games or have specialist needs for custom software etc.

I actually rotate the monitor on its side when programming at uni (of course flipping windows setting too) so I have a 9:16 aspect ratio.

Because PCSX2 has an internal resolution setting. I'd rather take 1920x1080 screens than 1024x768 ones.
1920x1440 looks a hell of a lot better due to being 4:3:

I tried that once. But i found it difficult to focus with that much code on screen at once, it was kinda sensory overload. I kept on loosing my position etc. I would probably get used to it eventually but for now im sticking with keeping my monitor in its usual widescreen rotation. Gotta say i love the stand that comes with the decent quality Asus monitors

I had a window up top and window down bottom. Quite productive setup for me.
