I'd say it has to be improved before the release of Vulkan ;)

hello everybody. :oops:i am wondering if the issue with the screen resolution not changing or resetting on vulkan has been fixed. i cannot enjoy vulkan because of it! this peculiar "reset" also happens with any imgui interface once you hover your cursor on it, for example the console, but i might as well create a new thread. for example, everytime i open the world editor my resolution keeps changing from 1080p to 4k which is incredibly laggy, quite annoying. i couldnt find any mention of this, seems like i am the only one,,, :( thanks in advance, take care!

Vice versa with Radeon RX 6750 XT here. Vulkan performs a ton better and DirectX 11 mode doesn't seem to even fully utilize GPU. Vulkan gets me around 110 FPS easily, while DirectX 11 is likely to drop well below 100 FPS, possibly down to 40 FPS.

This is with Adrenalin 23.2.1 (I didn't upgrade beyond that yet, because of reported regressions with later versions of Adrenalin.)

Yea, what I said in that post was completely incorrect... my fault. It turns out that Task Manager incorrectly reports my GPU usage when running the game with Vulkan. With Vulkan, it would show me quite low GPU usage for the fps I was getting (which is still lower than DirectX). As a result, it looked like the game was underperforming compared to DirectX 11 despite low GPU usage, but now it makes sense why. Vulkan is better for situations where you have a CPU bottleneck. My situation is the opposite, and only puts more load on the GPU, which explains the lower framerate...

Since task manager seems to be somewhat unreliable when monitoring system resource usage, I decided to use something different. For monitoring everything except GPU usage when using Vulkan (when in Vulkan, GPU usage is incorrect, but DirectX is fine) I use Process Explorer, by sysinternals. It's basically task manager, but has more features and, from my experience, is more accurate. Also, unlike task manager, it doesn't round CPU usage. For GPU monitoring when using Vulkan, the only thing I could use and get usage details that made sense, is Nvidia's performance overlay. I'm guessing that this is because Nvidias software understands its GPUs better than Windows, and can tell if different components of the GPU are bottlenecked.

You could also use the RivaTuner overlay.

I use the Adrenalin overlay. (Ctrl+Alt+O)

When I enable the Vulkan renderer, my performance goes from ~100 FPS to ~30 FPS on Normal preset.
In the Performance Graph "OtherRender" takes ~26 ms with Vulkan compared to the 0.3 ms it takes on the DirectX renderer.
I feel like something is doing something silly here.

    My specs are a:
    - AMD Ryzen 5 3600
    - 32 GB of RAM
    - AMD RX 7900 XTX

    ---
UPDATE: I upgraded to Windows 11, and now OtherRender is no longer taking up that much CPU time, and is very close to the DirectX renderer.:

The only silly thing here is your combo of a 7900XTX & R5 3600 o_O

Is there a way to download a version where Vulkan works on Intal graphic cards?

They used to start into the main menu and crash on any other level than a small grid. We are working on them. This also applies to Intel Dedicated GPUs.

    The issue you’ve noticed:

    The game is not launching.

    This happens when:

When i just try launch the game with Vulkan API. (I could change to DirectX API but then i cant play on VR)

    My specs are:

    Ryzen 5 4600H
    GTX 1650 Mobile 4GB Driver version: 551.23
    16GB Ram
    Windows 11 Pro Version: 23H2 22631.3007

    I tried:

    Updating the drivers
    Cleaning cache
    Trying Safe Mode
