It seems odd to see paid mods of real cars being traded for $8 or $10 these days. For $8 you could buy two excellent paid mods from forums like LucasBE, LJ74, etc. When you think about it, this price is crazy just to optimize Forza and CSR2 models for Beamng. Furthermore, modifications to real cars are often not authorized by the manufacturer, which could result in a lawsuit from the manufacturer to have the mods removed. Why they want to sell it so badly is a mystery, but why anyone would buy this is also a mystery
as you said, the people charging so much money are the same people just stealing someone's mesh from another game. they aren't here to make good worthwhile mods, they're here to make money off gullible kids.
Exactly For example, their Supercar Mod is just an optimization of a real car body on a Scintilla mesh. So this price is a rip-off.
First off it is ILLEGAL to sell and IRL paid mod due to copyright's and such. And in my opinion, paid mods are not a good thing in general. So for me, it's a big N-O.
The F1 incident has made this issue widely known to the Beamng community, but these idiots are still using paid real car mods that cost more than $10 and risk being sued by the manufacturers, even though they just brought car models from Forza and CSR2 and optimized them for Beamng. They are still doing fine and scamming
