If the mod approval takes too long you can upload the file here in the forum.

Given how long it's been in approval I'd guess we won't see it for a while still unless they upload it to the thread.

Sorry, but it's not me, I'm very confused on why this is taking so long too. I'm a bit new at this and I don't know if they're expecting or waiting for me to fix something because if they are, they have failed to inform me. Once again, sorry for the delay, it is being look into by me personally to find out why the mod isn't avalible for download.

You can ask in the author/moderator discussion, maybe that’ll work

maybe it won’t be like with my mod where they ghosted me for 4 months when i just wanted them to link the thread and resource (still not linked btw)

That's what I'm doing now. I'm hoping they respond sooner than later because I want to know what the problem is, if there is one.

bro has been waiting 2 million years for a mod to be approved for a game that has been around 11 years and the mod uploader only 9 (also why the heck is there 1222 pages if only 60 are used)

Patience my friends, the wait will be over soon, I'm just watching out for someone on the mod team to either tell me I need to fix something or that everything fine, and I just need to wait. And I'd upload it here, but I figured that it'd be better to have it properly advertised and on a mod page instead of it being in here, where it is less likely to be found. Also, I can see how many people downloaded it because I'm a bit curious to see how this will compare with the popularity of my other mods.

The fact that you used a model off the internet is probably what's causing the issue, the devs don't really like letting mods that use free models onto the repo unless permission is explicitly stated. Also, you can see how many people download a file that's attached to a thread, the number shows up below the file.

That would make sense, because I can't remember or find the original author, but I still credited them with the alias "unnamed creator" which was mostly because I didn't want anyone to credit me for building the 3d model. However, because I didn't want to have this problem, I was strictly only trying to use 3d models that were free, which the model was.

And I found a response from a Official BeamNG Dev not too long ago about uploading models that weren't original yours, they said-
"You also need permission from whoever created the 3D model. It's a WOM mod so most likely the mod's "author" has no idea either and they just stole it from a random GTA 5 mod, and most likely the person who made that mod also stole the model from somewhere else. It could take weeks to find the original author and most likely it will turn out to be either a stolen paid model with no rights to distribute it, or a model ripped from some game with a big studio behind it, which will make contacting the real author a pain and even then you probably won't get the permission. So yeah good luck with that. If it fails, which it most likely will, you will have to make your own model from scratch, or find a free to use alternative which will definitely be of lower quality."-Agent Y
(Ignore everything besides the green underlined text, here's the link if you want full context).
    https://www.beamng.com/threads/repository.88002/#:~:text=Bug reporting-,Repository,-Discussion in '

Considering I don't know, or probably even can-do 3D modeling, I just found a model that was free for use, and I thought I would be in the clear. This is just based on what I know, so I'm still left confused. But if all goes wrong and it still won't show up, I suppose I'll just put it in this forum.

I am truly stumped trying to decide whether I should just post this mod now, and end the waiting or wait until it's approved in the repo, so I'm just going to ask you guys in the forum instead of deciding for myself.

Why wait more time to get officially approved instead of putting it here right now like other people do all the time? For what I'm about to say, I think it should be discussed a little bit.

Recently, I've been looking into more forums and discussions about mods similar to this one, AKA, meshslaps. Meshslaps have an extremely bad reputation for them being associated with people making mod cars the "lazy way", and not putting actual time and effort into the car more often than not. And they are often shamed for being uploaded because the assumptions about them are also usually true. And while there is little to no evidence that I can prove this to be untrue about my own mod (besides the fact that you can view all the progress in this very forum, which is up to you to decide if it's valid evidence (meaning not that I didn't put time into the car, but more if it matters at all)), I will say some things first for your understanding and make a decision based on the reaction, if any noticeable ones at all, that I see from this post. As you might be able to tell, I'm for the most part, a cautious person.

First things first, I am not a skilled modder, nor have I ever claimed to be, and to many, the development of this car would be considered lazy, faster than mod-making should be, and even plain rude to upload. But you should at least know that I have no intent of ever bragging, flexing, or whatever else you think that someone would want to do in this circumstance. This also applies to everyone else who would potentially download this mod, as I do not want to be held accountable for someone else's cocky or mean actions.

Secondly, I know this mod isn't the biggest, most popular mod in the world, and neither the best. And it is important to know that the reason I'm explaining these things in "unnecessary depth" as if the world revolves around me is because I want to answer as many questions as possible before everyone who appreciates time and dedication for start-from-scratch mods is led to misunderstand something and get the wrong type of look at me. Also, I'd at least want to explain myself before someone might have a "strong differing opinion", so I know that they have a valid point against my understanding.

Thirdly, as mentioned many times before, I have never ever done something, to me, as big as this before. And I can say with a 100% certainty that there bound to be mistakes. But mistakes, to me, don't necessarily mean a flaw, but a place to re-try something until I learn something from it, whether that lesson be easy or challenging. So in the situation where you'd be playing with this car and you notice something that isn't right, that isn't because of the lack of effort, it's more because I am still considerably new to modding.

Lastly, (the word fourthly doesn't sound right to me, so I'll just wrap it up here.) no, this is not my 3d model, it is a free-to-use one I had found on the internet because I'm not good at 3d modeling. And yet again, no, the car will not have a custom jbeam, it will basically just be like the Gavril Bluebuck wearing a fancy costume. Many folks may have understandably become uninterested at this point one way or another, but to the curious folks who haven't, I never thought that I could make a mod with a start-from-scratch model or amazing jbeam in the first place, my goal was to be able to at the very least put my favorite car in the game, and I thought it would be nice to share my love for the car that other people may or may not have. So if you don't prefer mods like this, I completely understand, so I ask of you to please not state the 11,000 reasons on why you would or now hate my car, and instead be fair and know that I have my own perseverance of time, dedication, and effort. But that does not mean that the meaning of those important factors is valued any less to me.

This only applies to anyone who would suspect themselves of returning to this forum after potentially being unsatisfied with my work, and writing about how they now hate me and everything I've ever done. Not people who see this car and would want it no matter how it came. Constructive criticism is always allowed, just please try to read before you write, it may or may not answer your question. I don't mind whatever your opinion may be. Don't really care about the technically aspect of mods? Great! Quality's your number one concern for mods? Whatever floats your boat! Don't like mods that have bad or mean creators? Me neither! But if you do have something that I really should know, you can always PM me. Otherwise, I'm afraid you'll have to keep it personal.

I don't wish to come off as unmannerly and especially sleazy to anyone, this message is just purely informational. Hope this helps to answer the question, you don't have to answer it, but feedback helps me make more informed decisions.

To be honest my guy, don’t feel ashamed of making your first vanilla car mod. I’ve played with your automation mods and they look great. So don’t stop just because you are new and you want to try your best at a first vanilla mod. What I think you should do is upload the mod file to the forum. And when the mod gets approved on the repo, take the forum file down so people can download the repo version.
    --- Post updated ---
Plus, you’ll improve as a modder after some practice and time with 3D modeling and such. And I do like having another ‘50s vanilla car to play around with.

First, don't worry about the whole meshslap bit, everyone has their opinions but so long as it's decent & you're trying your best with it then go for it.

Second, I'd say the majority of the participants of this thread would want it released to the forum as opposed to waiting for whatever the repo issue is to be resolved.

Yeah, at least on the forums you won’t get bad reviews saying “oououo mod bad mehslap no gud grr!!1!”

Also, maybe try renaming the thread a bit? Feels a bit clickbaity :p

How did this Thread get past my attention? TBH I`m simply here to agree with what everyone else said - don`t worry about the meshslap, I`m by no means an expert (far from it) but after playing around with countless mods I think meshslap CAN be good!

Also, its very clear that alot of love and passion went into your project! Especially considering its your first non-automatron mod it really really does look great man!

So I would be more than happy to see this released here in the Forums!

    Take Care!
