Love the Horizontal ones . --- Post updated --- I know you busy, but "X-pipe" for some extra horses whould be nice , but that's just plans for the future.
Yeah, I'll probably make one eventually. I am going to make a non emissions-friendly race-exhaust at some point too, but again, for the time being I'm just trying to get the base car in game. I'm still sick of materials, and I thought I'd try my hand at making wheels. There's some bad spots in the shading, and it's not PERFECT dimensionally, but I like it. I also learned I need to plan ahead and make the base mesh have a number of rays divisible by the number of spokes BEFORE I get way too far in, because it's really annoying to fix that when you're 80% done making the shape of the wheel lol (The lug-cover IS removable, fyi) More wheels to come, but I'm gonna try to fight through the materials some more next thing I do. It's just so tedious lol
That turned out really nice so far, I'm more partial to the 16 inch five spokes that came on the cars, mine came with the 17 inch tri-bars, couldn't stand them lol, awesome work --- Post updated --- Also since you are doing wheels, I am currently adding wheel specs to my big post for reference, in case you wanted assistance with that. Sorry if it is a bit late lol
Damn, I wish I could rattle that kind of stuff off! My memory for that kind of thing isn’t too great.
As I've stated several times, my intention is to have the base car complete and in-game before I even try making special editions or aftermarket stuff. With that said, I won't say 'no,' just not soon. Back when I was working with Citybuild122, I actually did plan on making the new-edge as part of this same mod, but he was the one getting the models from... somewhere. Now that he's kinda disappeared, I'm making all the models I need by-hand, and if there ever is a new-edge added to this mod, it'll be the same. I HAVE hand-modeled an entire car (actually, just a different body for the autobello) and I think it looks pretty good, so I believe I CAN do it, it just is not priority until, again, again, again, the base car is finished. LOL Lol as much as I think the tri-bars ARE ugly, I think they actually fit the styling of the pre-new-edge really well, and for that reason I actually like them. (They are ugly though lol) No worries. I actually found a site that lists (and actually sells [used]) all the factory wheel options for the 94-98 mustangs (and other years, but you know... the ones we care about here) and they have Ford part-numbers listed which makes finding the specs and reference images SUPER easy. Thanks for the assist though lol. I'll compare info I find to the stuff you wrote down just for the sake of sample-size and to hopefully confirm information I find as correct or incorrect. No offense, but go download that one isntead of telling us about it lol, or PM the dude who asked. Again, as I have already stated, I am doing all the work here myself and I don't want to use someone else's work (anymore than I already am doing at this point lol... But Citybuild122 didn't make this mod either, and as far as I can tell, neither did the guy he got it from... sooooooooooooo) so please don't make any more posts telling me there are other mustang mods out there, or who I should "borrow" from. That goes for anyone reading this thread. Maybe I'm getting "whooshed" here, but I think it's fairly obvious he's just looking all that stuff up....? On a mod-progress note, I have not made much progress at all in fighting the materials. I'm gonna fall back on the old "I was busy," but to be quite honest I haven't had the patience to fight materials lately. I'm using ALL of my free time on this mod the past month or so (except Sundays. I challenged myself to push through and finish it, since I want it done so I can quit thinking about it lol) but even ALL my free time is not that much time, AND when I sit down and work for an hour+ and get nowhere, it does get annoying lol. I still do not have a strong understanding of how BeamNG's material files work. There seems (to me) to be no rhym or reason to when they work and why, and I don't have loads of time to learn lol. Jbeam is easy for me, modelling is getting easier, materials make no sense. I'll keep trying. Thanks for your continued patience and support and understanding.
A lot of it is research yes, I know that it is the most tedious part of anything, whether an assignment in grade school or something like this. I will say though in addition to some of the stuff I've seen personally on my, and couple other Mustangs, I do compare what people say. I hate just going to one source and believing it. That being said though, I know it will come in handy soon lol --- Post updated --- I wish I had half this stuff in my head lmao
I didn't mean to come across as rude, I just want it to be perfectly clear what I'm doing... and planning to do. Only real progress this week has been filling more holes in the model in preparation for unwrapping other materials. I haven't had much time so it's been slow-going. As always, I'll post 'em when I got 'em.
Good to know we gucci lol *gangsign emoji* (idek lol) LOL I didn't do that. As I said a couple posts ago, I didn't make the original mod and I'm fairly certain Citybuild122 didn't make it either... and I'm fairly certain the guy he got the mod from didn't make it either, and whoever had it before that just did a really lazy meshslap onto the 200BX. I'm 99% sure the windshield popping out was a mistake in the first place, and it doesn't do it anymore. Now, if I'm being honest, I agree with you that it was a nice touch of realism. I have to re-remake the .jbeam once materials are done anyhow, so I'll see what I can do about bringing that functionality back... when I get there lol
Thanks for the offer, but I don't need beta testers lol. I need to have started with a better model, and I also need to go back in time and learn materials when I had time to........ lol. NO. lol To be exact, I'll release it when I feel like I can put it out there with my name on it. The only BIG thing standing in the way is materials and textures... There's a TON of ancillary crap that needs to be fine-tuned or fixed, but the BIG problem is materials and textures. I've said it before, I'll say it again... (if you think you're alive then you're better off dead) ...iF ANYONE knows ANYTHING about materials and textures, please bestow upon me your knowledge lol. I'm not above asking for help. In terms of updates, I've done squat since last post because I had like half an hour of free time last week so all I did is fill more holes in the model to keep getting ready to unwrap textures.
