Thanks for your feedback!! I agree that the open pavement is a bit lacking currently, but I like the idea of having the 3 lanes in this “town” area. I will eventually add more detail to the highway, but in the form of decals such as breaks in lines and arrows indicating turning lanes. If you go to the other side of the map on the highway you’ll notice it does exactly as you described already. It just lacks proper decal placement and positioning. It will come in time though. Possibilities of map expansion will definitely have this style of highway with grass in the center with extra turn arounds and turning lanes
Sorry if I missed this detail, but are you actually going to model a real area of Tennessee like Roane County? I thought based on your earlier posts that you were going to start with a real-life heightmap, but create an original Tennessee-inspired map rather than placing the roads and buildings that are in that area IRL. So some tourist attractions such as a scenic chairlift would be lore-friendly even if it isn't based on Gatlinburg (if you can find pre-existing assets for those; I understand it likely won't be worthwhile to 3D-model those from scratch just to add detail).
Correct this is just a TN inspired map based from a real heightmap, but its more of a TN representation in my mind. Also since this is BeamNG, I’m trying to keep the content somewhat car oriented. Though it would be a nice extra feature, in my mind anyways, a ski resort doesn’t belong here (probably because I've never been skiing ). The closest thing would be a chair lift for a downhill MTB trail which could possibly/hopefully happen in a future expansion.
I know its only 0.05 atmosphere/≈1psi difference of a pressure, but whould be vert cool if you do it like that .
I don't think there is a map pressure setting is there? From your suggestion, I changed the gravity of the map to match a realistic value. (though it wont really affect anything) Next update this will take effect! Thanks for the suggestion!
Creators of hobby projects like this don't generally set deadlines for themselves. The unfinished map in its current state is already available for download.
Lol I think that may be on your end? Ive never seen that problem. Maybe its another mod or something?
can we have some mines like in west coast? It's something I see often in my area, and I'd love to see it in here, just a big hole with some fun roads to drift through
I actually have 2 rock quarries planned if that is what you mean, but I will bump the main one up on my to do! I have some other spelunking activities planned too. But underground mines like in Utah would be a great idea though! This hasn't really crossed my mind until now. Coal mine will be added somewhere eventually. Thanks for the suggestion!
I've done some digging, with only this mod enabled in Vulkan mode I get this problem. When I run in DX11 I get awful performance but still was able to try this mod out. I really love it, great work. If this map starts working normally for me in Vulkan I'll 100% get the patreon. If I get the chance today I'll check again if its not a mod thing, but I'm 99% sure its not, since it doesn't happen in DX11.
Thanks for the feedback! I may have fixed this problem already, but it’s hard to say without proper troubleshooting. I don’t know the technicality’s behind Vulkan. I just use the regular launcher as vulkan gives me like 20 fps. Haven’t really tested more than that. Feel free to reach out in dms or discord, and maybe we can figure something out. I’d like to optimize everywhere I can.
