Ok I know this sounds stupid, but having a version that runs on 128-bit means more accurate simulation on day one when our technology is good enough to mass-produce optimized 128-bit hardware. This wont be anytime soon but would be great if we could leave a general plan on how it would be made.
There are 64 bit processors that can decode 128 bit files, but tbh this is gonna wait till GTA 6 releases lol
There are no 128 Bit processors for computers. You're likely thinking of the 6th generation of consoles, such as the dreamcast.
Bro I am talking about devices made to run GTA6 on max graphics at 120 FPS, not anytime soon lol. I just think it would be good if the devs can adapt faster when the time comes as BNG is a pretty CPU intensive game when it comes to larger vehicles, and by then max nodes can go above 4000 for bigger vehicles.
I ain't gonna lie man this game is in early access and still struggles to cope at running properly on 64 bit, let alone an architecture that doesn't exist yet. What would be the point of that allocation of time.
128 Bit processors do not exist outside the 6th generation of consoles (And that's more about word length, and was also a marketing term.). 64 bit exists because we reached the limit of 2GB for 32 Bit processors. 64 Bit has a limit of 16 Exabytes of RAM. Until we reach that limit, we will not have 128 bit processors
It makes sense for someone to think that 128bit CPUs will soon be a thing but that is actually not the case. 64bit will be enough for a long time, 128bit also comes with some challanges of its own. We may have quantum home PCs before 128bit CPUs will be a thing.
