Yes! A bit! I’ve flattened out the terrain making way for the road mesh. I keep bouncing to other projects on the map though. Next step for the highway extension is making the actual road itself and then the decals. Hopefully not too much longer.
Pretty sweet map. I like to do some testing on this map every now and again, will be patiently waiting updates and can't wait to see how this turns out On a quick note though, maybe I'm imagining things but it feels like the dirt on this map is more slippery. Is this by design or am I just wrong? I tested various rally configs like the Sunburst and Vivace and they seem to have less traction than normal.
Thanks for your feedback! I believe my dirt uses the standard dirt groundmodel. I will look into this! (Edit: The default rally configs use gravel tires, which may seem less grippy in dirt? Maybe this is your issue?)
That very well may be the problem. I would have to look at the default maps in the editor to see what surface they use. If it's indeed gravel then that makes sense. Now I'm wondering if they use dirt surfaces in specific circumstances. Interesting thought! Thanks for the quick response

A bit of a delay in progress for a few days. Personal life is busy right now. I don’t mean to ruin this for you, but it is not from WV. It’s something I kind of just made up lol. The terrain is irl terrain from a place in TN, but it’s all a part of the Appalachians, so should be pretty similar. Anyways, thanks for trying my map. Hope you enjoy!
Patreon update! Changes: -New highway extension! Now drive a 4 lane highway from end to end of the 75km backdrop and then loops back on itself! Over 150km of continuous highway! -Optimized backdrop. -Regenerated map at a higher, more realistic elevation. -Forest and rock regeneration! Regenerated rocks and trees with new guidelines for more detail and optimizations . -Various lighting and shadow improvements for aesthetics and performance. -Added and fixed various decals. -Added a couple roads and driveways to the existing houses. -Tons of other small fixes and improvements Major known issues -AI traffic does not work on the highway once you get so far from Caney Ridge. This is due to all roads on the minimap/GPS disappearing once the AI decal extends so far away from the terrain. -Some rock generation is a bit wild in some places. -Some trees generate in rocks and some trees are floating a bit. (oops) -Floating point error. The further you drive from Caney Ridge... Weird things happen. Most noticeably, things shake.

Thank you for your support! When you reach the end of the backdrop the highway does a loop to go back the other direction, in the opposite lane.
