WIP NASCAR Gen 4 Stock Car

its your choice, but can it have the superspeeedway package front bumper from 2006 and 2007?, only time it appeared in a nascar videogame was in nascar 08 and 09

 

I am thinking about it, I just need to finish what I've been working on and then I can start working on these things, btw a lot has happened for both this mod and the COT and I am getting close to being able to show the progress!

 

With the gen 4 will it come with its own custom sound?

 

It’s going to use the normal gen 6 sound

 

Exactly, unless I end up learning how to make engine sounds this will use the regular gen 6 sound.


Since I haven't posted any updates recently I thought I might just show a bit of what I've been working on, remember that this is still far from finished and some JBeam may be re made later on, also there are a couple of shading issues on the 3d model at the moment but that will be fixed very soon.

Now then, what I've been doing for the last month or so could be summurized as me remaking a lot of the JBeam from scratch, this includes the chassis, fuel cell, undercarriage, front support, body, fenders, I've also remade the 3d models for the chassis, front support, undercarriage and fuel cell.

Now if this looks unfinished it's mainly because I've not made the JBeam for the hood, front bumper or the rear bumper but in the end this will be way better then the previous JBeam and 3d models!

However as I stated previously this is not finished yet and some of these things may change.

Btw, if anyone has any reasonable requests for this mod then now would be the time to ask them since it might be too late to do later on

What type of requests do you mean?

 

I mean anything really, if I consider it to be too hard or irrelevant then I won't do it

 

you could do 1990 cup cars with a mesh slap but the rollcages might mess it up if you do that with solar powers maybe gen 6 rollcage will work

 

I've already remade both the mesh and JBeam for the rollcage so the only problem with that would be getting a mesh for a 90's nascar mod, otherwise I could make the mesh myself but i would need quite a few reference images for that

 

This is nice looking. Hopefully it does get abandoned like the other gen 4 mod.

 

I dont know if this is considered pirating or something but people have been able to port it into games from the nr2003 files if they like export it or something and if you do i can get you some good refrence images

 

I don’t think it’s pirating because the game is considered abandonedware so, I think we’ll be fine

 

well you would need to credit the owner of the original thing like the model and from what i heard there has been issues with that on roblox with ripping models

Any changes to the mod yet?

 

Yes, there has been some progress, but I've been quite busy with school recently so not too much has happened

 

Ripping the default cup model wouldn't be a big problem because it's the default model that comes with the game that is considered abandonware. However, Roblox has been ripping models and paint schemes from Stunod, which is a very much active community full of people who work tirelessly to bring content to NR2003 21 years later for free. Ripping older models and paint schemes like for example, the SS.net COT and paint schemes for it is a bit of a grey area. Sure people worked tirelessly on that paint scheme and model, but at the same time 90% of those people have been M.I.A for over a decade. They more than likely couldn't care less that a NR2003 paint they made in 2008 is being ripped for a Beamng or whatever game mod. However you should still credit them if it is possible.
