I think the misunderstanding happened because a dude was asking for a New Edge special edition and I thought based on previous people that you were insinuating that I should use that mod in this mod.

    I forgive you lol

This is doing nothing. No one will read it. I have to post giant text or people will not see it, and they won't see it anyway so there was really no point. It wasn't a personal attack on you, nor was it a meltdown, it literally was a simple "please don't do that," (brace yourself for another meltdown, boyz) I'm trying to get people to READ WHAT I'm SAYING. lol

"sorry you got my intentions confused" lol

I'll make sure not to voice my opinions again, dad.

Now, back on to the topic of THIS mod, I didn't do crap last week because I had no time, once again... ripbozo, I'll work on it when I have time. Honestly I'm sick of forums-people's BS, y'all can have the crappy meshslap and I'll just keep this one and quit posting.

Sup everyone, been a while. Unfortunately my life has sped up and not slowed down, and my time is still very limited. Huge shoutout to oioi for continuing this, I was really surprised and stoked to see you were still active with it. I'm sorry for kind of disappearing on you and everyone else, I ended up getting married this year and started a tech position at a luxury dealership. It's been crazy. I would definitely like to get back into this mod in some capacity. oi has carried this project on his back, and has brought it much farther then I could have. I've said this since the beginning, I know very very little about 3D modeling and Jbeam. I've always been a coder type of person, and even then the jbeam is somewhat confusing to me.

Oi, I believe you still have me on discord. We can get going on this again, perhaps when you are done with an edit you can send me the version you have, I can make mine and send it back to you. Sort of a "collab". I have a buddy who did a SN95 mod on another game, and I'm sure that I can still get him to send me some of the models that he has. Vertical tails, LED tails, body kits, cobra/GT bumpers, etc. Not sure what it would take to implement into beamng but I imagine as long as we have the blender files we can make it work. Just let me know, I'm definitely still interested in this.

I saw someone talking about new edge stuff, RyL Garage has a paid new edge mod that is really nice. You can also find another new edge mod on modland that I've REALLY enjoyed playing around with and is surprisingly good quality. (Not sure if its against the rules to mention modland in these forums)

Also, just a cool thing. I recently got my hands on a 98 true Cobra, with 91K miles! I am really loving it. even though my GT is built and turbo'd, the cobra is soooo clean and is much more enjoyable to drive than my GT.

Thanks, I'm not as active with it as I'd like to be. Like you, my time is quite limited anymore.

LOL don't apologize for that! I'm glad you got a life lol, I gotta get me one...

I'd appreciate any help you can give me, especially with our limited free-time. The big problem I'm having currently is materials.

Idk tbh lol, I don't remember ever talking on discord, but I can un-bury my account and see if we did. Anyway, I'm cool with that idea, I just need to make an updated and in-depth "To-Do" list so I don't get so sidetracked. That way we can both add things to the list and knock them out one-by-one.

Yeah, I'd kinda prefer to do the modelling work myself rather than "borrow" from somebody. I know I kinda already borrowed the entire carcass of this mod, but I'd rather scratch-make stuff.
I've also already made a Cobra front bumper, and the '96+ tails among other things. For the rear bumpers I was going to make the recessed letters ("Mustang," "Mustang GT," "Cobra," etc.) using textures (Normal maps) to the extent that I could. Still need to figure that out and see how it looks though.

Nothing against forum-rules about mentioning things to my knowledge. I got kind of irritated at some people in the past mentioning all these other mustang mods I oughtta "borrow" from, and I've already mentioned why I don't want to do that lol... Nothing wrong with mentioning, again, I just would rather make things myself. (Take a shot every time I say "Mention" lol)

That's pretty sicc, I've discovered a few SN95s locally to me that I've been eying, but I've got enough projects on my plate at the moment.

    Some day.....

I really enjoy this mod, it's pretty good. I'd say it's up there in terms of realism. Pretty sweet mod would recommend to anyone who likes older muscle cars.
    --- Post updated ---
Should do a K-series swap. Would be so much faster.

I can never tell if these are sarcasm or not... Somebody posted something similar a while back, and I couldn't tell then either lol........................

Anyway, back on-topic, here's my "To-Do" list. I've added everything I could think of, probably forgot loads of stuff. I'm thinking maybe I'll "hand-off" texturing work to someone who actually knows how to/likes to do that kind of stuff... I can tackle modelling and .Jbeam, but I'm burnt out when it comes to materials and textures. I still haven't un-buried my discord... I figure this forum thread is enough of a mess already, why not make it messier bouncing our ideas/progress back and forth?

(May make a "To-Do list" post, that way instead of posting .txt documents every time I can just go back and edit the post... Should've thought of that before, but oh well....)

Oh yeah, I do that because I believe emphasis is important (lol) and it doesn't really come through in text unless you do crazy antics like so....

Anyway, back on-topic... business has been picking up lately (IRL), so I've had even less time than normal (I actually worked a weekend which I literally NEVER do), but I'm gonna try to make some time to knock out a few things on the SN95 before tooooooo long lol

Maybe post that "To-Do" post like I said, who knows?

Sorry for disappearing, been suuuuuuuuuuuper busy IRL...

Not difficult, just tedious and time-consuming... time being something I don't have much of, especially lately lol

    Don't worry, it wasn't much of a bump... but to answer your question;

    The currently-available version, No.
The rework version that is not available yet, Yes.

If you go back through here a couple pages you'll see the greatly-anticipated (lol) police variant skin, and I also threw together a 'Murica skin for testing purposes because I had to.

Anyway, I recently figured out that my issue with mapping multiple UVs to the same mesh is fixed by using a little thing called "UV Channels," I'll try to work on that next opportunity I get.

On a separate note, I was thinking about getting a set of gears for myself soon, I currently have the Z code 3.08, and for my driving style, it is nearly perfect. I am debating between 3.31 and 3.55 but I don’t want the short first gear and the 0.68 overdrive makes 3.55’s annoying on the highway. So far the plan is a full limited slip rebuild and 3.31’s. I don’t know what you guys are running but let me know how you guys gear swap experience went, and how you like driving with the new ratio.

Then why change? Or, what do you mean by "nearly"? lol

No way around this really. A shorter final-drive is going to make you turn higher revs at highway (and all) speed(s, lol)
If your exhaust is the annoying part, I'd suggest getting electric cut-outs or something, if it's just gas-mileage, stick to the 3.08s lol

I just recently did a carrier-swap in my 1992 dumpster fire F-150, not because I wanted to, buuuuut I had the classic shackle-hanger failure when I bought it, and I'd been driving around with a broken suspension and swaybar. I finally broke down and went to pull the axle to make the repair, and with everything I do to that truck, it snowballed lol...

I had to pull the aft-axle fuel tank to get at the suspension rivets to cut them, and the tank was essentially swiss-cheese anyway so I replaced it too. I had to pull the rear bumper and receiver-hitch-bar-thingy to get at the tank mounting hardware. Then when I tore into the axle to change the fluid, glitter soup lol... RIP.

To make a long story longer, the kid I got the truck from loved doing 1-wheel burnouts and hated maintaining fluids, so if you know how the inside of an open diff works, you know that a 1-tire-fire puts a lot of stress on the oil under the spider-gears. Welp, mine chewed up a spider-gear washer and spat it out all over the whole inside of the case. (Ruined the carrier too, but I was gonna posi-swap it if I had to tear into it anyway, so pfffft)

I bought a brand new Ford Racing clutch-style posi made for, strangely enough, an SN95 Cobra Mustang since the Cobras were 31 spline just like the trucks. Fit like a glove. I put in a Timken bearing and seal set and I re-used my 256,000 265,000 (Apparently I'm dyslexic) mile 3.55 gears with a chipped pinion tooth (I think a spider-gear-washer crumb got in between the gears and caused this, I just de-burred it and went on with my life)

Anyway, if you're really set on doing a gear-swap, my advice is buy Ford gears and don't mess with aftermarket junk. My ancient, worn out gear set went back in and measured up PERFECTLY in the middle of all the specs set, and they run DEAD-silent. I've seen new aftermarket gears not fit properly without modification, adding expense and headache. Buy Timken or Koyo bearings and don't mess with anything else because the quality is just not there.

You'll also NEED a good, accurate set of digital/dial calipers, and you don't need a shop press, but it'll make your life SO much easier. You'll also need a beam/dial-style in-lbs torque wrench for preload measurements, and ideally a dial-indicator with a magnetic stand. If I could give my past-self some advice, I'd say buy the correct flange-adapter instead of using a 6-foot crowbar on 2 driveshaft bolts lol
I'd also tell myself to use paint-thinner and compressed air to clean the case first and not mess with degreasers lolol

In summary, idk why exactly you're tearing into a good rear end (assuming it IS good... idk) but if you have even the slightest head for mechanical stuff, you'll do fine. It just takes time and a LOT of work lol
I can't tell you how my gear-change went because the only thing I didn't change was gears lol
Anyway, it drives great and I can really launch without much squeal now.

Now all I have to do is rebuild the entire rest of the truck...... LOL
