Okay, took a little longer than I hoped for, but the chassis is now all re-textured! This time I used high-to-low poly baking instead of painting the normals by hand, so now they have a lot more detail - as an example, some indents in the bodywork: I'm really happy with how they turned out, way better than the previous textures! With those, also comes in a new addition - the stripped interior! Doesn't actually remove any weight from the car, since it's already light enough to cause instabilities when hit at some angles. Looks cool tho! For the other changes: I've rebaked the lights yet again... ...re-did the broken windshield texture... ...and added some common parts, like shift lights, roof bars and race seats: And to answer @A8den 's and @TheItalianPlayer 's questions: The general configs will be named by the engine size - i.e. 100A, 120B with some special trims like Stile, Corse and Safari, and there will be a Group 2-esque rally version.
About career mode, Kajzer could you please give the car a somewhat accurate value? Modders never bother and the cars end up selling for like 1$ in career
I'll try to make it career-friendly, but I haven't played it for that much so the prices might be a bit off. I will make it more rare though, so that it doesn't pop up in every dealership
In case you aren't already aware, the Price value now represents what the car would have cost brand new back then in US dollars, adjusted for inflation, and for out-of-production cars the game applies a depreciation modifier in Career Mode. It wasn't always this way; previously the Price represented the current used market value of a good example and many mods haven't updated it to reflect that. This leads to unrealistically low prices in Career Mode when the depreciation modifier is applied to an already pre-depreciated figure.
What if you're hit from the other side of the car? I'm not trying to criticize your work, I'm just wondering if it looks weird.
Looks rad!! For the future I do hope to see a modded mid engine version with a bodykit, like these infamous polish rally videos
Oh that's cool, didn't know that's how the prices are calculated. Thanks for the info! It is, visually it's only attached to the engine, but a majority of vanilla cars are like that too, so I don't think that's a big issue. I wanted it to be less like "the entire windshield just shattered into pieces" and more like "you hit a barrier and broke it, but you can still do a few laps around the race track" if you get what I'm saying. I guess that's the downside - only really works if you're hit from the right. Well, I have something just for you - a mid engine Busa swap!
Ok, but now that exhaust will haunt me forever. That mid-engine swap looks too powerful for its own good. >: )
