Re: General discussion chat I find it quite weird how we live in 2014, almost 2015 and we still use the term "Motion Picture".
Re: General discussion chat I don't think that people should have to hide their religion, its fine for them to be proud of it and wear cloths coated in religious symbolism. That is fine and its personal expression, you can even discuss it with other people if conversations lead there, thats still fine. But i don't think its fine for people to go round houses door to door telling people about their religion or be a nuisance to others to try and spread the religion. I also think that its needless to say that killing people for those purposes is also not acceptable. Where it becomes difficult is when you take young children into account. At which point i think its pretty much the parents choice within reason. But that is no excuse for child abuse due to religion. If the child in question doesn't want to be part of the parents religion that they shouldn't face disciplinary action from the parents because of it cause in my opinion that should be their own choice. I think its needless to say that Binding Of Isaac style stuff is just totally wrong.
Re: General discussion chat I wish my parents would stop making me go to church every sunday. I'd rather be sleeping.
Re: General discussion chat I agree with most of this, but nobody should teach religion to their children. Let the kids choose.
Re: General discussion chat I don't really agree with that since i think that the children should be taught about multiple religions. But i think its fair to say that parents can take their kids to Church (or the Mosque etc etc) but if the child decides that they no longer wish to take part in that then they should have total freedom not too. I think that preventing parents teaching their own religion to their kids is a bit oppressive.
Re: General discussion chat so i've been reading about stuff, and i've heard that reference nvidia coolers are better then the 3rd party ones (such as ACX) for low airflow cases (which pre-builts generally are) would a reference or ACX gpu cooler (on the gtx 760 SC) be better for my case? (here's what it looks like, monitor is a 15" HP L1706 for size comparison) those 2 fans are outtake, intake is on side (the right side in this picture, if you were looking at it from the front of the case it'd be on the left side) that's all it has (well, there's an intake in front as well, but you can only see it from inside the case because of the front panel, neither of the intakes have a fan either, both are just vents pretty much)
Re: General discussion chat I would go for a custom cooled card any day. I understand the theory as to why that works but i think that in most cases the custom cooled cards will give the advantage. For reference i have two custom cooled cards in my system and when they are both under full rendering load neither gets above 70c. I have one fan in the front of my case and one exhaust. As far as i can tell the GPU's get their air mostly from the side intake. Note that the front intake is very restricted in terms of airflow.
Re: General discussion chat k, brings me to my next question though, would you say that a gtx 760 SC with the ACX cooling system even FIT? (if needed, i can probably get a quick pic of the insides) i've actually never had any physical card in my house i could do size comparisons with also wondering what size you would consider my case to be, it looks like micro-atx, but because pre-built it's not exactly easy to get an exact answer anywhere on spec sheets or anything also lel, dat cable management on that last pic of yours
Re: General discussion chat I agree with this wholeheartedly. Being a nuisance is hardly courteous, and it casts the religion in a poor light. I will add the caveat that I believe it shouldn't really be taboo to bring the subject up directly. Conversion, from the canon of a religion, is an act of consideration. So long as it doesn't take cues from telemarketers or door-to-door salesmen, and keeps itself from being impersonal or pushy, I don't really see the issue. Beyond a certain age, it's probably best to let a person do and believe as they will. If they don't want to go, forcing them to won't change their beliefs, and may actually make them hate the religion. Either they come to it on their own later, or they don't.
Re: General discussion chat I'm sure he meant the biblical story not the game. Thought everyone knew it.
Re: General discussion chat Well, I have almost already semi-crashed, but I really have to thank the girl I went to homecoming with because we still talk (was told very early on that she didn't have feelings for me, but she said that could change, and so far I haven't decided to ask her anything because she is sweet enough right now, and unless if I know that she changed her mind, we both seem to be supportive of each other and I don't see many more benefits arising from dating as of yet) and she's helped keep me just above that line between happy and my normal winter crash. This is probably also because exams are this week, and I have come down with something and I feel kinda weak and my brain is in fuck-all mode with focusing on stuff. I have my hardest one first, so other than that one, I don't have much to be worried about with the exams. I just felt like it would help to get this off of my chest right now, and it has seemed to actually help as I wrote this XD. Also, my final part for my PC is shipping currently. I actually have to go water cooled because the Bitfenix Pandora case doesn't fit any cooler taller than 124mm, and that lowers my choices for good air coolers down by a whole lot. I decided to get an h105 cooler from corsair, and I can't wait to try out my new parts for christmas.
Re: General discussion chat Christ the games opening cut scene is almost a direct representation of the story
Re: General discussion chat I think this is the best example of religion in games that I have seen (I'm joking ofc) http://youtu.be/m2av978FgLI

Re: General discussion chat And my idiot friends have changed the title of our Skype group chat to "gay homosexuals". Why do I hang out with these people?
Re: General discussion chat and here's the interior pic: lel, dat pre-built cable management (although IMHO lenovo does better than most)
Re: General discussion chat Well it's still an appropriate name. Would you rather we called them flickery-dickery-movey-and-entertanies?
