Update Speculation thread

What you talking about put in light something very interesting. Because it means we are hungry not for the content added, but for the teasers themself, preventing us from enjoying the game to its fullest. And I think the devs want to put a brake on this over-hyping.

If I'm correct about this, it couldn't be impossible they stopped the teasers until the 0.33 update comes out, and then, they can see if it's better for us.
I think the fact that the first teasers of previous updates had a gap of one month before the next one should have alerted us.

By that same logic, then the devs shouldn't have made the Lansdale because there were already 90s minivans as mods

The Moonhawk is not like the Barstow. Completely different styling, the Moonhawk is not a muscle car (Is the Monte Carlo a muscle car? No.), and different construction (The Barstow is unibody with a subframe, the Moonhawk is body-on-frame.).

To further add to Bussin.Buses's post the Moonhawk is more of an early-mid 70's personal luxury coupe that gets strangled by emissions regulations, whereas the Barstow is a late 60's-early 70's pony car (we don't have an actual muscle car(( the Bluebuck doesn't technically count either since it is considered a sedan and I've never heard of a muscle sedan, I only say technically since the engine options give you the choice for more power and the two door does exist but still its called a sedan.)

honestly i think this might be the update to tie up vulkan or improve something graphicall, which sounds small but od id give anything for better color grading and better motion blur and dof shaders, samw with AO its very bad

The Gambler 500 update ?

 

Yes, although there may be some people who like him).

 

Like me. Sure I don't like the non-industrial construction of the gambler 500 vehicles, I can't say the same for the missions linked to the Gambler 500. I would be ready to say it as my favourite part of the update, to do the missions, like the off-road races with the Poogeon or the Brutta Anatra with the suspensions work of both vehicles.

But calling it controversial, I could understand a little, like the fact they "promised" us the T-series remaster with a picture of the new system of the "Broken mods detection", wich was showing the GTG T-series expansion in the 0.29 folder, and then they show us a minivan and the Gambler 500. I can't denied I cried in my side when I saw this.
After, I did reconciled myself by telling "Métronome, why are you crying the missing of the T-series remaster, when your favourite vehicle categorie is coming in the game ?"
Also, I think the Gambler 500 is a better update than what the 0.28 bring us.

And even I don't really like the Gambler 500 style, I would like to see the config they made with the BMW from the Build Vlog as a Gambler config for the EtK I-series remaster.

 

I haven't seen much controversy over the Gambler 500 update other than people annoyed that it wasn't a track focused update (that group is always annoyed at everything we get so...)

The 6 wheeled Bolide seems fairly popular judging by how often I see it in community posts. Personally I would've liked to see some stuff closer inspirer by IRL Gambler cars, but it was still a nice update. It also had the Lansdale, which was one of the most requested vehicle types and is one of the more content heavy new vehicles.

 

Complaints about offroading content was and still is my biggest peeve with some of the community. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but it’s perfect for BeamNG to tap into, and networking with the Gambler 500 was an excellent move imo. I just wish the hype about it was there (though I may not be seeing the overall picture) :/

 

I’m all for gambler update. It does mix stuff together and its vanilla. I don’t understand, why would anyone be bothered by that.
The “normal” update will come anyway. It’s just more content

 

It does feel like a weirdly undersold collab, if you weren't following BeamNG's socials you would've missed it.

The anti-(whatever content we're getting) group is really annoying, especially since after 0.27 the off road content was basically a UTV and one single set of off-road tires. I wouldn't classify the Gambler cars as off-road any more than any other passenger cars. Then there's the anti-trucking crowd who doesn't like that we're getting one of the most highly requested remasters and vehicles (COE American truck) and are scared that any new content means the game is exclusively a (new content) simulator.

There's always those groups who are just against everything and it's honestly best to not give them attention, but I can see how it would get dejecting as a team member.
