Ah dammit I was hoping it'd be slower than the Crown vic. Fastest time we got for the Crown vic was in the high 8s.
It's all about the rear gears. Depending on generation of "modern" crown vic (1998-2003, 2004-2011), acceleration will be really different. The older vics are geard for top speed and the newer ones are geared for acceleration. The '06 I looked at was a rocket out of the hole. 250 HP. That's all you get from a vic. Unless you do a 5.4L swap in it. You don't even need to change the computer if you put a 2-valve 5.4L V8 in it. #fordmodularengine
It would haul ass if it wasn't really detuned. They were shooting for longevity when they built these cars. And the Crown vic I'm trying to buy has the limited slip 3.55 in the back. It does half decent burnouts. I think the sound more than makes up for being slow.
And that's for the P-71. My Grand Marq feels suspiciously quicker than 9.8 seconds... Like... 8.8.... Edit-Those P-71 rear seats are the most uncomfortable thing I ever sat in...
Thus why you're getting 8 second 0-60 times. The blue '06 had 3.73s in it. Fuck it was fast. There's a little bit of an upgrade for you, put 3.73 gears in the thing. It'll be night and day out of the hole.

wat? not even close there is WAY more room in the crown vic i know because i've driven a civic sedan (2010 model year) and i've driven a grand marquis (rebadged crown vic)
I'll wait until I break the rear end to put new gears in it. It's pretty much inevitable. Might as well wait until repairs are necessary. There's also more than ample banging space in the back seat in these cars.
Civic isn't a puny car, but it's not nearly as big as a Crown vic. Crown vic also has a massive trunk. It could be a lot bigger, but the solid axle takes up a lot of space back there.
You realise those HID kits are illegal in the US, EU, Australia and most other countries without having a projector headlight housing too, otherwise you are just dazzling people, even with headlight alignment set lowest, although thats just a bloody good excuse to get some snazzy looking projector units - - - Updated - - - Unless the wheel is alot bigger than I imagine, that really isnt a big boot
Found some lowering springs for the 'Rolla today. After Fixing the brakes again and a paint job, I can start my little autocross project I've got planned for it. I think it'll do rather well if I ever complete it.
square feet measures area. area is not valuable when determining trunk space. the measurement you're looking for is volume.
........ (imported from here) For reference, the yellow box is about 50cm x 20cm. FWD=extra space at the rear argument won't work here as all A4 unibodies can accommodate driveline components at the rear regardless if the actual car is Quattro or not.
