Gabester made some awesome music for the videos. Will he also be making music for the final game? If not, do you plan on having any music at all, or just silence? I always kinda imagined the game having a music playlist like the Burnout or Motorstorm games: hard rock kinda stuff. What do you guys plan on doing?

I think crashing cars with full realism would go great with an flat-out classic mozart-like music soundtrack.

I agree. A choice or something that has to do with a radio would be nice. It could be just like a lot of other games that have a radio. Possibly even an ability to add your own stations?

Oooh that's a great idea! They could make default stations with specific songs, or let you create your own station by adding your own songs. That would be awesome! :D

Wouldn't this mean that BeamNG would have to pay to add songs due to copyright issues? Unless of course Gabe only adds his own songs.

That's what I was thinking about. Most of the time they would have to pay. Some games can find newer bands and convince them to make songs for free. The purpose is to promote publicity for these unknown bands. Other than that, most music has to be paid for. I personally think that Gabe will make the soundtrack himself.

Here's an idea. How about running Windows media player in the background?

You could try iTunes, I really like to use that because it's simple and will play a few different formats of music. That never makes me lag and in fact I don't even notice a performance drop at all.

Some games mute other sounds so you wouldn't be able to. And based on that, why not use your iPod? Because it's a hassle. It would be like not giving us any cars because we can make our own. :(

um, because I don't think the devs are going to work on muting sounds from other processes your point is m00t.

also, learn the difference between "some games" and "all games" to figure out that your point is m00t for a second reason.

You always crush ideas, I know some are stupid but don't try to kill everyone for it.

if you look at what I actually said, I was just suggesting a simpler alternative. I'm not running around crushing ideas, if I did that there wouldn't be any room for discussion. In this particular instance, I like the idea of an internal media player but others where going on about problems associated with actually doing that. My input was "hey, how about simply using a media player and running it in the background?"

Look dude. Let me be straight with you. Sometimes, people like to express their creativity. In this case, it's a good thing because BeamNG is listening to our ideas. Had you been someone like Gabester, I would respect your harsh opinions a lot more. However, since you don't have such authority, it just makes you seem like a jerk. I don't know if you realize, but you have a tendency to rub people the wrong way. Your comments typically seem kinda mean (and I can give 3 examples in this single thread), and sometimes people don't like that. It would be nice if we could express our ideas without worrying about being slapped in the face by other members. I can almost guarantee this conversation will get hostile, so I'd prefer it if we just end it now. You don't have to listen to me at all if you don't want to. Just think about it next time you post.

[SUB]You acknowledge that this is a free and open forum to a reasonable degree and yet you're telling me off for being blunt about my opinions and implying that I shouldn't voice them because people don't like their ideas being criticized? [/SUB]

... Back on topic. I still say that a media player would work all the same, regardless of the fact that a small percentage of games that aren't BeamNG and have nothing to do with it at all mute sounds from other processes. Also, if for some reason you want to use a computer that can't handle WMP to play BeamNG, then I urge you to reconsider thinking about playing BeamNG on that particular computer, or at-least use a more resource-friendly media player. like this- http://download.cnet.com/Media-Player-Classic/3000-2139_4-10518778.html
