1994-2004 Inkaei RXS LORE The Inkaei RXS was originally made after Inkaei noticed how well liked and fun to drive the Civetta Bolide was. Wanting a car of their own that is sporty and fast like the Bolide, they designed the RXS G1 (Generation 1). The car performed well and was loved by the general public, but alot of people wished Inkaei had given it a V8 instead of an Inline 6 in the US (it was not rotary powered in the US). The original RXS ended production in 1992, after a 5 year production run. The next year in 1993 Inkaei announced the RXS G2 (Generation 2), which would go on sale later that year for a 1994 model year. The car featured a few different engine options from factory, that were: a 2.4L Inline 4, 3.0L Inline 6 and a 1.3L Rotary turbo. People loved the 2nd gen RXS but again, the car lacked a V8. In 1997 the RXS G2 got a small facelift, and during this facelift Inkaei decided to finally give it the V8 people had been so desperately wanting. The car was sold worldwide and it slightly differed market to market. For example, the V8 engine option was only available in USDM and it was called the VX8, whereas it was powered by a 1.2/1.3l (depending on trim) Rotary engine in all other markets ABOUT I first got the idea for the design of this car back in 2022, when i made it in automation. I wanted to see what a JDM C5 Corvette could look like, so the Ibishu RXS came to life. It had 3 engine options from the factory, a Turbo 4 Cylinder, NA 6 Cylinder and a V8. It looked terrible. But it got the idea across. around March i remade it into a somewhat decent looking car but i still was not happy, so i thought i should try to make it into a proper Beamng mod. So here we are. The car took inspiration mostly from the C5 Corvette and the Miata in some places (you can probably see some resemblance to the Miata) the 94 model had square taillights while the 97 model (which is the one in all the pictures) had round ones, like the Corvette. I plan on giving the car quite a few engine options, i doubt i will get them all into the car on day one but if i can stuff them in the engine bay and it fits it should eventually be added. Some of the aftermarket engines im considering giving it are: 2.6L Four Rotor, V8 from the Bastion and if i can fit it a 488 CUI V8. This is my first time with Jbeam and making modded cars and all that, so don't expect this mod to be super high quality, but i will try to get it as good as i can get it. Q&A When relez? i have no idea, wont be for ages though Will it be free? Yes it will be free Are you taking suggestions? Yes suggestions are welcome Will the rotary engines be able to brap? Yes, the stock engines wont brap obviously but there will be part options to port the rotary (Bridgeport etc) Why rotary instead of V8? I think it would be pretty cool to get another good sounding Rotary for Beamng i also did it because it would be funny to wind up all the LS fans with a rotary, still including one though because i know people will want it, and nag for it What does the first gen RXS look like? Basically a C4 Corvette with square taillights and a slightly different tail and nose shape (Automation mockup, actual car if made wont be automation) What does RXS stand for? it stands for Rotary eXperimental Sport (Credits to LJ74 for the idea) Where are the Rotary sounds coming from? All rotary sounds are a mix of IRL sounds and Engine Sim Can i be a play tester? Maybe, really depends Why did you change Hirochi to Inkaei? I want to make my own brand so i can be more creative with things Why no Gavril Vendetta the car is not a Vendetta because It was not designed with that in mind its Rotary powered and this car is a 2nd gen car, so it would not make sense to be a vendetta at all Here are some photos of the design of the 94 model in automation: for those that didnt read the about section the car was first designed in automation 2 years ago Here are some photos of the 97 model in blender:
Nice, but I think it should have been a fifth generation Gavril Vendetta (or even a Bruckell), because it's clearly inspired by the C5 Corvette — with a twist, of course.
i was thinking about doing that for the US market, with calling it the Vendetta but im not sure if the dude who made the OG Vendetta would mind or not
When I was reading the lore I thought it would be an NSX... Turns out it's a C5 Corvette with rotary models? You are getting really creative with this, I'm excited to see where this goes (even if it technically should be a Gavril Vendetta)
I too understand why you'd want it to be a Vendetta, but there are so many reasons to not call it that. For example the creator of the Vendetta might not agree on that; The creator of this mod may not want that; Just because one lore friendly Corvette is named 'Vendetta' doesn't mean that every single mod of a lore friendly Corvette has to be a Vendetta... Also for example we already have a Jeep Wrangler (US) as an Ibishu Hopper (JP), so I don't see a problem with it being a japanese lore friendly version. If I'm wrong about anything please excuse me, that's just how I think things are and I can't know for sure.
Don't forget one thing for the JDM . Japan made a Law that wants car maker to limit their car power to 280hp. I Haven't informés myself to much on that tho so i could be wrong
C5 corvette? but i thought it would be something based of off a honda NSX or Prelude. but other than that Im exited to see where this is gonna go...
Well , otherwise it's not allowed in Japan. Tho , make that limit only for Japan, like the overrated MK4 Supra (USDM and EUDM have more power than JDM) --- Post updated --- Not sure what people doesen't get in that , but the Hopper IS NOT A JEEP WRANGLER. it's Closer to a Suzuki Samurai than a wrangler --- Post updated --- Funny that now , Gavril has a partnership with two competitor : Arima and ibishu. Could be distributed by another American company charged of both CKD assembly and dealership network.
what im going to do is have it where you can change some parts, prob the ECU i dont know, to unlock the full however much hp it makes (in the JDM versions) its more likely ill end up making it an Hirochi in the US market
I mean, it's a bit of both and I think it's more of a Wrangler, but it compleatly depends on how you view it
I never said that Wrangler is simmilar to Corvette, What I said earlier is that the Hopper is a bit of Wrangler and a bit of Suzuki Samurai, and I see it closer to the Samurai, but it depends on how you view it
An excellent inspiration and practice for the Hirochi Sunstorm, both were created after the Civetta craze.
Got the body ingame, Barley. the Unibody doesn't line up (its under the car you can see it) and the right pop up didnt make it over and the doors have a weird seam i need to fix progress though
