It does look higer then the D-45. unless its just off road parts on the D-45. BUT i do hope for a D55/D-65 I love me HD utes ( trucks ) I will love a terribly slow I6 diesel to LOL
That D-Series looks like maybe it could be an F-550 or F-650 if I had to guess, hopefully something along those lines.
Figured I'd share this video here for anyone who hasn't seen it... It's an old Roadkill Extra video where Freiburger talks about some of the quirks and potential project ideas for a Chevy C50, one of the counterparts of the truck from today's teaser: Of course the truck in the video is about a decade and a half older than the in-game D-Series, but the basic idea is still there
So this means that we will get a heavier duty D-Series inspired by the Chevrolet Kodiak/GMC Topkick, Chevrolet Silverado MD/HD, and the Ford Medium Duty, as well as a tanker upfit and probably a fire engine configuration. We have the D10, D15, D25, D35, and the D45 already, so why not a D55, D65, D75, and even a D85? I would also like to see a lore-friendly Ford Excursion based on the D35 and D45, unless the LWB Roamer counts, but I don't think so; the Roamer is more like a lore-friendly Ford Explorer (and, to an extent, the Expedition) to me. And finally, regarding the T-Series, we will get a T-Series remaster, part 4.
A lore-friendly Excursion would be amazing, with the base engine being the Gavril 5.5 V8 and moving up from there on to the 6.0 Turbodiesel V8, the 6.9/423CUI V8 and, who knows, maybe a range topper above 7 liters. Maybe a lore-friendly 460CUI/7.54l V8, which, in an earlier version, could also be used to motivate a baroque land yacht! As for sizing, the Roamer is a Full-Size SUV based on the D-Series frame and, based on that classic post mentioning the size of each BeamNG vehicle, the short variant of the Roamer measures exactly 5m in length, so the Expedition is the best IRL equivalent. --- Post updated --- So there are many choices here but it seems like no existing T-Series frame is suitable. I see.
The height of the frame we see in the picture says it. Apparently. It seems taller and higher off the ground than the usual D-Series 10-15-20-25-30-35-45 frames.
Ford Explorer was on a mid sized truck frame. The Roamer is on a full sized 1/2 ton frame, so comparable to the Expedition and Suburban. We do have the LXT35 Roamer, which is based on a 3/4 ton frame IIRC. That makes it comparable to a Suburban 2500, which was competing with the Excursion. In other words, we already have a version of the Roamer which is halfway between the Expedition and Excursion. Not to say I wouldn't appreciate something like the behemoth Excursion in game, but Gavril already has a crowded lineup in this region and it would be very similar to the LXT35, just a little bit beefier. While a chassis cab pickup can handle a small tanker upfit, something this big is too much for the normal D-Series. It also appears to have straight (and beefy) frame rails, a high sitting cab, some sort of box (fuel tank?) under the door, etc... For example, compare the teaser to the picture below if you could only see from the firewall back
