Re: General discussion chat Yeah, my whole family except my brother uses Android. (My brother had an Android tablet but my dad took it away after he broke it. He fixed it and uses it for himself.) I've had a little experience with the newer Atom tablets with 8.1 and they're pretty nice. I want a Stream 7 to play with. Maybe after I sell this paintball marker and maybe sell my Nexus 7 I could buy one.
Re: General discussion chat Wonder how well BeamNG runs on the atom I know some guys are trying to get android to dualboot on some of the atom tablets. Issue basically being that although there are android atom tablets, they have different motherboard chipsets and BIOS/UEFI setups rather than being IBM PC compatibles like the windows tablets and some of the drivers for the atom arent 100% open source (which is also hindering linux in general rather than android).
Re: General discussion chat Steam inhome streaming is also very functional provided you dont need ultra responsiveness, for playing around with an xbox controller its fine. Needless to say im not going to bother trying to run BeamNG on it, its just not worth the effort to see a slideshow of a pickup truck slamming into a wall (after 5 mins of stuttering i expect). One thing i will say though is that the touch screen is fairly naff, its perfectly serviceable but it isn't precise, you will have a hard time hitting some smaller buttons just because they are not in line with the grid of the touch panel in front of the screen.

Re: General discussion chat So the E4200 netbook I ordered has something called Dell Latitude ON. Basically it's a small smartphone CPU that boots a modified Linux very quickly so you can do stuff like email without doing a full boot and saving battery. I wonder if I could get it to run a full Linux distro or something..

Re: General discussion chat I tested out track mania and a couple other games. Track mania is playable with everything on minimum, same goes for kerbal. Pretty much anything 2d will be totally fine on there though. Web browsing is not an issue at all, it also runs Ableton live which is quite nice. The 10 inch version has a separate usb and charging connector, so you can have an Xbox controller plugged in while you charge, or an audio interface etc. It also does hdmi out as well so it will make a really nice holiday device for playing games on a tv or watching a film. The screen is ok, its an IPS screen so viewing angles are very good, but the colours are not amazing and the resolution is enough. But if the resolution was much higher the APU may start having issues anyway. So im enjoying it quiet a bit. Still need to install photoshop on it and hook up my wacom tablet since that should be really nice to use. I will also note that it does get warm, no more so than my galaxy s2 but the whole device heats up, not just a single area.

I got nothing this christmas, i also got nothing last christmas, or my previous two birthdays. with that $150, plus the 60 dollars in refunds i could get my dream gift that ive literally been wanting for years. Be thankful for your mom and what she got you. Not cool dude, seriously not cool.
