for battlefield? the fx-6300 will no doubt be better then the i3 redrobin found as bf4 is amd biased (assuming of course bf4 is the battlefield you want to play)

however if you plan on playing beamng more often, then the i3 will have a better time then the fx-6300

it really depends on what you want to have a better experience with

if you want best performance in beamng: get the i3 redrobin suggested

if you want the best performance in battlefield 4, get the fx-6300

I'd say i3 for both, to be honest. Battlefield games aren't particularly CPU intensive, the majority of their work is carried out on the GPU, so in that case the AMD advantage would come from buying an AMD GPU.

I'd go for the i3 because Intel mainly focuses on single core performance and optimisation, as opposed to AMD just throwing more cores at the problem.

bf4's the one i'm mostly focusing on so i guess i'll get the fx-6300

Is the g3258 better than the fx 6300 on bf4? http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Pentium-G3258-vs-AMD-FX-6300

    Re: General discussion chat

Time for a very short post 2 day review of the lynx 10 tablet now that i have it fully set up.

TLDR: Its pretty nice, it met my expectations pretty much exactly, but my expectations were fairly high due to the hype around the lynx tablets.

Firstly i shall start with the elephant in the room, it has an intel atom quad core cpu and uses Intel HD graphics. This is NOT a gaming machine, do not buy one with the intent of playing modern triple A games, they will not run too well. Having said that i am finding its pretty "ok" as long as you pick your games wisely. Due to the separate USB and power connector it is easy to connect usb devices while charging, but i really suggest you get a usb hub to use with this device, personally i find that a single usb port is not enough. The reason i mention this is because my wireless xbox 360 controller (with usb dongle) function flawlessly with this device, with Windows 8.1 you don't even need to install drivers for the controller, it just works. This makes playing games such as super meat boy a fairly good time, it will even run track mania stadium² as long as you turn the graphics down quite a bit. If you are a fan of some old triple A games such as need for speed Porsche unleashed those work flawlessly too and at mid to high settings. There is one issue though, not all game developers are good at optimizing their code, there are some games which should run easily at 60fps that don't such as speed runners. Also this will not run BeamNG well at all, i haven't tested this but its already a forgone conclusion.
Next up is the screen. Its a 1280x800 IPS panel, with the brightness turned up i am actually finding that the colours look really quite good, certainly not amazing, its not close to the accuracy of my Asus PB238Q but it looks perfectly fine. The resolution is adequate, i found myself being very surprised when i realized just how useable such a low resolution is in windows. Everything looks absolutely fine except text in certain applications, for the most part text is fine, but in some programs it is quite blurry. The touch input could also be more precise, but its good enough 99% of the time.
Windows 8.1 is fairly ok to use, i have encountered one or two issues with it but i am mostly enjoying it. One issue was that i had to restart the device after a tutorial message built into windows 8 rendered the device unusable since it asked me to access charms by putting my mouse cursor in the top right, this is a touch screen device, there is no cursor unless i plug a mouse in. There was nothing i could do to escape the tutorial, when i locked the device it wouldn't even let me unlock it because i still hadn't completed the tutorial. Other than that it has been fine and i must say that i really enjoy the sounds the os makes when plugging things in etc... But the speakers are total garbage, they work and get loud enough but they are not very clear, headphone out is fine though.

I can see the device being used to great effect for productivity if you plug a keyboard in, while i have gotten fairly profficient with the windows touch keyboard it takes up way to much screen space and i still don't think a touch screen keyboard can take the edge over a physical one yet based upon general use stuff.

So yeah, i like it. Steam in home steaming is good to. I also love how easy it is to install games on both your pc and tablet with steam which can also sync save files in many games. I am about to go on holiday for 3 days (to see family in wales) so this tablet is going to be a really nice addition to the galaxy s2.

Also thanks Nadeox1 for the wallpapers :D

And yes, i am holding it upside down, my charger is to the right of me ant the charging port is on the left of the device, windows will rotate it for you though so its all good.

One present I got. TARDIS USB hub. It makes the noise when you plug in a USB and the top flashes. Pretty neat. Can also power stuff off the hub so I can charge 4 phones at once! :D

This is unheard of speed for me...
I think my internet is rated for 5.1MB/s... Normal is around 500KB/s.

I get around 500KB/s from my line as that is what its rated at.

You should seriously complain about that if the line is getting 5.1MB/s and you're not getting 1/10 of the speed you should. My old isp did a similar thing with my connection limiting it to 56KB/s when it could have been 500KB/s. They offered to up it when we said we were leaving...

Really just don't let them fuck you around like that. Call them up and see how that goes and if not threaten to switch isp, then do so if you still have no luck.

I gotta see if my dad will call. I've been subtly saying the internet is being slow as all hell the last few days. Maybe he'll get it.

I believe Ctjacob lives in murica, meaning the isp will more then likely just say "fuck you" well, not literally, but you hopefully know what I mean

Yeah I know american isp's are probably the worst in the world, but they should still have at least half decent internet service even if the customer service is abysmal.

You overestimate american isps then, customer service isnt the only reason we have the worst isps of all of earth

Makes me so damn mad to think about the Crown vic just sitting there and I can't do a damn thing about it.
The ethanol which, I'm sure, starting breaking down long ago and is wreaking havoc on the fuel system as we speak. Every day it gets worse, little by little.
There's gunk built up in all of the door and trunk jambs. Especially around the trunk. Like a leafy, muddy pudding in there. That'll start to rust through eventually.
All the leaves and shit plastered to it with the rain, the gunk built up on the surface of the car. Muh paintwork
The tires and rubber seals sitting in the sun dry rotting.
    GAH
It needs to be saved before it gets bad.
But the fucksticks at the department of revenue that keep rejecting the goddamn papers.

See? Look how dirty the poor thing is.
Think I should take the gay license plate holder off the front? Front plates aren't required here so I'm not really sure why it has it in the first place.

ohmygod you must have this beautiful crown vic. Seriously.

If I had one (assuming I didn't give a shit about mpg) I'd probably do a manual tranny swap, and install a twin screw supercharger.

Listen to me. The i3 is your better bet in terms of all around performance. Battlefield 4 is optimized for AMD GPU's, not their CPU's. Get the i3.

    Get the i3.
