According to a Book called Economix, it's actually a "failure" in the american vehicle class that classes SUVs as small trucks, but wasn't fixed by Uncle Sam because companies were making so much profit in that New segment

 

Yeah, my Eagle didn’t have to conform to car emissions laws, it was classified as a light truck. And it’s literally a 4WD station wagon.

Pretty capable offroad. The splitter and transfer case combo gives you so many different gearing options so you always have the right gear ration you need. Is a little top heavy so steep tight trails are tough. Not running exhaust stacks cause they like to get hung up on trees.
