Install is the computer term for "add", when you install a mod you're adding a mod to your game. A deinstall is the opposite. Basically what I'm saying is that it's enough to just remove the mod.
Version 15 is released! You can view the release notes over at GitHub: https://github.com/DaddelZeit/graphics-settings-utils/releases/tag/V15
I dunno if i did anything wrong, but every time i START the game, the mod isn't auto-applied, i physically have to go in "Mods" and disable, then enable the mod, as you can guess this is annoying after a while, also every interface type i enter, the mod asks me if i want to "remove all parts of zeits graphics", whether i go into "vehicles", "map", "photo mode" or even resetting my position, etc, I have RESHADE, but i doubt it would be that which makes the mod unable to equip itself on starting the game, idk atp man please if anyone has a fix for this,i'd really appreciate it man
Yeah here, (I use zip if you don't mind) This sorta "Reenable everytime you launch" bug happened way back, so ever since then I just had to struggle to reenable everytime I relaunch the game, Hope this helps in some way. {Also if you see anything revolving around CK graphics, ignore that, this was happening before i JUST NOW installed it, It's now uninstalled so, we're basically at my first reply now}
You've renamed the mod which messes stuff up. The deletion detection will only work if the name is 100% the same. Yours has a (1) attached, rename that to the proper name and you should be good. I can also see that the game is confused about the actual location of the zip. Is it possible that you have a duplicate in a sub-folder?
Man, I tried all options, No dupe in any other directory/folder, Made sure the name was EXACTLY as it should be, tried placing either the .zip or folder counterparts of the mod in "Mods" "Repo" or "Unpacked" start up the game, over and over and over, nothing, I guess this is something i'll just have to deal with, I appreciate your attempts to help me man, I do but im guessing I'm just the certain few that this will be buggy for. --- Post updated --- Last ditch effort, Here's a new debug, Idk atp man, lost.
I'm having a similar issue since the V15 update. My mod doesn't deactivate itself, but I am seeing the de-install "remove all remnants" message very frequently despite having replaced the mod file in the same place with the same name. I notice that this dialog was added with the latest update, maybe it's just triggering when it shouldn't? LOVE this mod btw, I just downgraded back to the previous version for now because I can't play BeamNG without it :3
The deletion detection works by checking if you have a mod with the file name "renderer_components_loadsave_zeit" still installed. This check runs pretty often and actually corrects itself if it does find the mod again. The only way this could be buggy is if the name the mod is installed as doesn't equal the name the mod checks for. If this keeps happening I could add an uninstall button to the settings window instead, as there is no other reliable way to check this. That was the old binding name for the profile editor. I suggest you use the window selector however. Instructions on how to use those bindings will appear when you hover over each of them.
I found the issue, the check doesn't work when the mod is in a subfolder. My file structure looked like mods/GFX/renderer_components_loadsave_zeit.zip (I like to organize my mods ). When i place the .zip directly in the mods folder, it works fine.
I'd recommend trying both to see which you prefer. I like the UI of this mod better, plus this one works with Vulkan while CK's doesn't.
Oh, I see now - the game merges the directory structure into the database entry name. That's dumb --- Post updated --- @doDeca_Hedral I just posted another update that fixes the remove dialog issue. It might also fix the other issue @milomorgz2017 had, though I can't check this as I was never able to reproduce it.
how would i un-apply a profile. idk how to make it so that it looks like beamng base game --- Post updated --- how to select none
I installed this mod, however this keeps popping up every time I start the game and every time I load a map. When I click the download button I just get a 404 not found page. I just now installed this from the ZIP file attached to the post, so it must be the latest version.
Yes, I just switched from full numbers for versions to decimals. This will stop happening once the in-game repo updates. For now you can disable the automatic update check in the settings.
Thanks for the 0.33 update! Unfortunately, the UI still has several major issues: When changing resolution from 1920x1080 to 3840x2160: Scrolling sometimes breaks (it will scroll, but instantly jump to top) The UI gets pretty spaced out and big, but text, etc gets tiny. When reverting resolution back to 1920x1080 after that, the UI either: Fills the entire screen, but scales well text-wise ("UI fills screen.png") Gets way too big, spanning across multiple 1080p & 1440p monitors - interacting with the UI then takes you out of fullscreen and causes a lot of window rearrangement/jumping, sometimes leaving BeamNG completely black. When you get a glimpse of the UI before that, it's big, but text remains tiny. ("UI off screen.png") - this screenshot was taken a few ms after it resized to not span multiple monitors, but was still off screen and buggy. The second you activate the profile's UI after chanigng resolution, the game exits fullscreen and it bugs out like this - its not like im clicking too fast or anything. Unfortunately, after this happens, the UI doesn't automatically scale itself properly again, it stays broken until you relaunch the game. There's also weird stuff going on with the game's built in options UI. If you apply the "Ultra" preset, the colours are great, but doing Esc > Options freezes the game for a while, then when it opens, the game's colours have completely changed (e.g, way too orange at sunset - video attached) It doesn't revert when you exit the options menu. You have to re-apply the Ultra preset. Infact, even this doesn't work under certain conditions! Here's what I had to do to generate the attached screenshots ("4K Screenshot 1,2,3,4.png") Spoiler: Screenshots Start the game in fullscreen 1920x1080p Set graphics settings to attached photo (Normal/Medium with High shaders) ("Normal Graphics Settings.png") Load the map to take screenshots in Set time to 17:21 Esc > Options > Display > Resolution to fullscreen 3840x2160 Esc > Options > Graphics > Max out everything Apply Ultra preset in Graphics Utils If you do ANYTHING, I mean anything, in a different order, you'll end up with excessively orange lighting, which can't be fixed by re-applying the Ultra preset, resetting postfx, changing graphics options... Either that, or you'll have a completely unusable Graphics Utils UI that goes off screen, causing you to exit fullscreen when you click it, meaning you have to go back into options, which means you are stuck with that ridiculously orange lighting again... this is demonstrated in this YouTube video: Here is what is shown in the video in order: Options menu open and visible, showing the excessively orange lighting Exit options menu Re-apply ultra preset - lighting looks good again Open options menu - default tab is Graphics, so there is a long pause/lag, then the orange lighting returns. Not sure if you can even fix this, but if not, a tooltip alone after graphics options is accessed might do some good... (You might ask - why not just click Big or Huge in photo mode instead of messing with resolution - well, for some reason, it disables the grass when you do that...) So a few thoughts on the Profile Selector UI in general: Additionally, the descriptions are always scrollable, so interfere with scrolling the profiles list. This is even though they're not actually that long... while I understand this is a very scalable arrangement for people who'll make a ton of profiles, realistically the majority of users won't be doing this, hence I'd much prefer the ability to just resize the window to full height/width, meaning that scrolling issue is completely gone. It's not like I need to see where I'm going when changing profiles anyway, as I won't be driving. Another argument for this - scrolling easily feels slow in real-world usage, e.g, at ~40-50fps when you're in a map. I'm not too sure about the tags (fps, normal, looks)? Firstly, the seem to be buttons, and when you click them, it seems to rearrange the list? Not sure what the intended purpose is. Secondly, that area is always scrollable, even though if one line in height (and has plenty of horizontal space?) - this catches the scroll wheel when you're trying to scroll, making it feel very clunky to use. Scrolling frequently breaks, as if someone is holding page-up. I've unplugged all controllers and keyboards, and re-plugged them, to confirm its not me, and I can confirm it's an issue with the UI. I'm not sure what causes this but it only seems to happen after a while. Happened after (not immediately after) filtering the list a few times, changing resolution, etc, but I'm not sure what the cause is. ("Broken Scrolling.mp4") I must say, that feature to automatically generate a thumbnail in the exact same position with same car is super impressive, so well done on that nice to see stuff like that is possible with nothing but a LUA script! Keep in mind these are my personal opinions and I just want to help improve this mod, I'm not taking a dig at any decisions made Especially wrt to changing resolution etc - might not be a pressing issue, but putting the info out there is better than not at all, and I'd imagine every developer would want to polish their passion project as much as possible UI aside - I noticed this post on Reddit and remembered about what you can achieve with the world editor. Obviously, it's not something that'll have universal results on every map - settings will differ, it might not even be possible. But was just wondering what your thoughts were on its practicality & whether there's any way you could integrate it into the mod (map presets?). Thanks!
