I'm not saying anything was done out of intentional malice necessarily, it's just kinda disheartening to see someone throwing shade like that for no reason (especially when they have zero other mods, like why was it so necessary for this to be your first?).

literally harmed nobody, people got pissy over a joke mod (forums moment) and here we are, only because one of the people “own” the autron brand, that’s why it kicked off lol

Ok this is rotting my brain so this is my last message. I understand that it's a joke, the problem is that the punchline of the joke is someone's hard work. Using the same fictional brand as someone else is fine, but the problem is that, in this case, it was used as a specific attack on the work of someone for seemingly no reason.

If you don't think it hurt anyone, I encourage you to read the very thread you are replying to. The author of this mod is being publicly bullied, and you are standing with the bully.

The people at the butt end of the joke care. It's not about modding etiquette, it's not about reputation, it's about being a decent human being and understanding when you've hurt someone.

 

the guy who made the cacatron anyway is probably going to rename it into jinhai because robert is a far worse person than me, yet doesn't improve, great contrast over my stuff.

also as it turns out it was just focused towards mods like the jinhai and xenira. not this mod. It's still my fault allowing the brand name to anyone by just crediting it, which is not a good idea. The situation would've made so much sense if it was a jinhai, because (insult alert) robert is such a racist bastard in public and I used to like him until he got worse as a person. Thanks to that, he doesn't improve at anything, which would made so much sense in the first place.

The amount of mean people on the internet is staggering, like they really have nothing better to do? Just sad. It’s best to just ignore all them losers and keep doing your thing. This mod really isn’t that bad and the CrossSport is a great mod. I look forward to your future projects and ideas!

 

there's deep irony in the statement "this mod really isnt that bad" considering what the goal of the cacatron was, which was parody and satire of aforementioned mods.

 

it’s not a matter of standing with the bully, or the author, it’s how people are treating the situation.

I was referring to the Petitron (the mod this thread is for, in case you didn’t notice). The Petitron is really not a bad mod, the cacatron on the other hand is intentionally terrible.

Yes, the Cacatron is intentionally bad because it's a parody on the xenira and jinhai.
I was simply finding it ironic that you essentially implicated the petitron as well by calling it "not that bad" as if it was a high bar to cross

The petitron is a neat mod regardless and I'm glad that it's improved as much as it has over time, I wasn't trying to dog on it

 

Yeah by “not that bad” I didn’t mean as an insult to the petitron, I just meant that it’s better than the xenira and definitely miles better than the cacatron. At first I thought you were saying that the petitron is bad but I understand what you mean now

 

well everything good must come to an end farewell stupid petitron ( I know it'll be fixed after the game breaks it )

 

So that means you will update brand lore from car parts maker to (maybe) Cherrier rival

 

i mean, Cherrier is by the looks of things mostly inspired by Peugeot (Picnic just adds the theory's fuel into the fire as it's based on the Peugeot 106) so Autron would be like a Renault.

By the way, Im sorry for the end of Petitron. Honestly, I didnt liked that many configs and new models (like 100+ configs?! why that much?!) , but after time passed, I realized that this isnt bad mod (pack). I always loved lore and small cars

Honestly sad to see this mod reach it's final destination, but one thing I'll always love is that it got a config / skin that I feel like was inspired by the "Antarctica 1" VW Beetle!

 

Another bright spot that I'd like to bring up in regards to this mod.

An early mod like this, given the love and effort that it's received, tends to bring even greater things. Not just the CrossSport, but the EUDM Pessima, to be specific. Because, if we never got that mod, we might never have got Angry_Bird's Mirena mod...or, at least, it would have ended up looking a lot different.

That EUDM Pessima mod made a great basis for the Mirena, and its that joint unity between members of the modding community that makes earlier mods like this look even more special, in retrospect.

Also, as sad as this whole situation with joke mods at the expense of Autron has been...it's certainly shed a light on the brand, and I've got high hopes for it to become something even greater in the future, as long as other people can properly treat it with the respect it deserves.

Perhaps, if things work out well enough, this could become the next Arima, as far as community-created brands with multiple high-quality mods to it's name are concerned.

Covet, you've got friends here ready to stand by you when the proverbial chips are down. Keep your chin up, keep looking forward, and never forget the work you've created that's gotten you this far.

 

idk if this is just me, but everything that is J-Spec, like the J-spec Hood, J-spec Body, J-bumpers etc are invisible, pretty much everything else that isn't "J-spec" works fine.
