That's a question everyone wants answered. The devs have pretty much kept us in the dark in terms of release dates, so who knows?
>someone complains about lack of updates >small bit of the community agrees with them >rest of the community acts like pricks and tells them WHEN ITS READYZ!11!! >one of the devs lurks the thread and has lulz >next day or two we get a blog post Boring. Happens twice a month atleast. Do something different next time plz community plzthx
I thought I saw something somewhere saying we'd see some thing after the new year. It's the holiday season guys let the devs enjoy it with their families just like we all are. They aren't captives we're holding in a dungeon somewhere forcing them to make this game for us. They all chose to make this game and will do it at their own pace.
We would if they were like thehunter Devs and gave an update every Wednesday then we would know about there break , but they don't.
Wow, it's pretty pathetic how when someone wants to know what's going on in terms of game development, they get sarcastic responses and get mocked.. even though there hasn't been a blog in a month.
Wrong. (imported from here) Like any other game studio, they probably took some days to stay with their families in the last week. Also, read the comments. Tdev briefly explained what they are working on.
Just proves my point. Other than that, it would be great that if the updates could just be posted instead of people having to complain to get an answer. edit: Really though, I know that people like to take breaks. Just please do some blog updates at least every couple of weeks.
Welcome to the community Seriously though, we would like to know whats going on as much as you do. But information relaying isnt really the devs' strong suit. We once went almost a year without an update. Be patient, and it will be rewarded, i promise.
You can't compare this game to thehunter because it is way farther along in development. Sure the devs for this could try to do a weekly or biweekly blog but as they have said before when they do those people still complaine or they are full of stuff they (the devs) think will be too boring for us. I think that "boring" stuff would be great to read about but the devs do not think so. I also think part of it is the horribly hostile nature of some of the people on here. Some of you act like the devs owe you something more than an amazing game. You paid $15+ to be a part of an early alpha in a very ambitious project, you need to relax and understand that to these devs their lives outside of this game come first. That is why they don't have blog updates regularly, they would rather take a break from this game than write blog posts every week. Yes it does suck to be kept in the dark but honestly if you aren't making stuff for this game then you really shouldn't be following it every single day. Nothing is going to happen if you check every day to see if something happened. Check once a month, every 2 months. Whatever. There's no game to this yet give it more time. Go play other games. To me the people being most hostile seem to only want to play this game and that is not how this is going to work. Yes we all agree this game is going to be awesome but it's going to take a lot of time. Years in fact. The best thing you can do is ignore this game for long stretches at a time. Don't expect anything to happen soon, then when something does happen you get surprised by it. I know some of you want this to be a finished product tomorrow and if this was EA/Ubisoft that might be the case. However these guys actually want to put out a quality finished product which will take lots of time.
Nice post and indeed the long stretches between checking in here are exactly what I intend to do. Coming in here every day and expecting something new is totally unrealistic as much as checking every month is. I also agree that this program is definitely going to take years to refine and am happy about that, it will give me time to patiently learn T3D and Blender and still have my ideas relevant when something gets released.
