I'm with the same problem as above, game freezing on the loading screen. Only difference in my case is that, the are 2 maps the game is able to load - Grid, small, pure and Cliff.

It seems like vulkan has problems creating cache files and wont load content not previously cached with direct x 11

I have the same problem just stuck on the loading screen. So what does it mean "has problems creating cache files" so how to fix it ?

Just load the content first with the default direct x 11, exit and relaunch the game with vulkan. it should work after that.

I'm sorry to hear that but sadly we don't have that hardware to test. If you are affected by such problems, make sure to update drivers to the latest version and then run the game with a -gfx vk debug launch argument. Then attach logs in this thread. For the next update, we will focus more on fixing support for older GPUs.

Here I am, once again testing out the Vulkan API and posting my experience here.
This time though, I'm surprised I'm actually encountering more problems than I did in the previous release. Here's my report:

    Specs recap:
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU
    11th Gen Intel Core i7 - 11800H (2.3GHz)
    16GB of RAM

    • 0.31 on WCUSA ULTRA: 16 FPS AVG
I was also getting GPU, CPU and Game Engine Bottleneck
    • 0.32 on WCUSA ULTRA: 30 FPS AVG
    Now only GPU bottleneck occurs
    • 0.33 on WCUSA ULTRA: Game gets stuck in loading screen
No matter how I try the game refuses to exit the loading screen when trying to play the WCUSA map. It will start loading up but at some point it gives up and starts idling while using some RAM. After that you either kill it though task manager or wait until it crashes.
This is weird because WCUSA is the ONLY map which I can't run. Every other map is able to load up perfectly.
This really surprised me as I was indeed able to play in WCUSA in previous versions but not now!

Side note: when I first installed Beamng 0.33.1 I ran the game in Vulkan, and as other users have pointed out Vulkan does not like loading maps without cache, so I was actually able to load into WCUSA but it was still loading all of the textures and meshes and it eventually freezed and crashed. From that moment on I wasn't able to load the map ever again.

UPDATE: Seems like Johnson Valley is also having issues. The map loads up perfectly with all of the textures and meshes but freezes immediately and goes on to the same state as in the loading screen of WCUSA.
It's also worth noticing that while the game is on this "idling" mode it likes to eat up all of the RAM (I suppose this is because it runs out of VRAM)

    Hi Car_Killer!
I noticed a visual problem in Vulkan, probably new in version 0.33. When you have precipitation on your map, the glass disappears if there are rain drops or snow flakes in front of the camera. Here is the quote of @Richi7 reporting the bug of my modded map and a video of this bug at the bottom of this post.

The video is recorded in Vulkan safe mode, with cleared cache and verified integrity.

    My spec is:
    CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700H 2.30 GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU
    RAM: 16GB

I don't know if this has been reported, but I am having an issue with GPU VRAM usage going insane when at various points, but a repeatable scanario for me is to load it in Vulkan mode, load into any map. This will take a while to load but it evenutally does with decent frame rate (60 fps), and about 7.6/8.0gb vram used. However, as soon as I try to open the options menu, dedicated VRAM spikes to max, shared VRAM goes up a cliff and only stops when all 32gb of system memory is filled. It does not recover from this state. Specs are i7 10700, 2070 Super, 32gb RAM. I have cleared caches, I have a VR headset connected but not used, and main display is running at 1080p.

I have a very similar issue with vulkan absolutely destroying vram with the same GPU and ram amount.
I’d to some real testing if I wasn’t so exhausted. Hopefully I can sooner than later

Vulkan causes the FPS counter to be affected by the motion blur when the UI is hidden.

I have similar specs as you and I have the same problem. Did you ever solve it?

The devs may find this interesting but if you leave the game running in the background long enough this will appear.

The other day I put a new driver 565.90 for my 1660 Super, after that BeamNG stopped loading beyond “Loading UI” when starting the game
With DX11 the game continued to work
I rolled back the driver to the previous(561.09) version and continued to play with Vulkan API

since 0.33 i can not boot the game with vulkan, or with vukan and safe mode. gives me a generic error message. ive verified my Nvidia drivers are up to date, no windows updates, fresh install of the game

Has anyone experienced insane VRAM usage with RDNA1 cards? like my 8GB 5500XT uses all of its vram no matter what settings im on (and sometimes even while changing settings in the main menu before loading anything) the game also really pushes my RAM and VRAM when trying to open the options menu (which generally leads to the system being overwhelmed and the game crashing)
