you are legally not allowed to profit off of something that has copyrighted material (in this case Bugatti's logos, names, and any other parts they have copyrighted), unless Bugatti themselves have licensed it to you. and im fairly certain that would cost a lot. one of the reasons why BeamNG decides to make their own cars and designs and to be fair, they genuinely look awesome i'd kill to have them irl but you could probably get away with it if it wasn't paid, so you weren't profitting from someone's copyrighted material. of course, the brand would still be able to get it taken down if they please, but for the most part, they'd usually be fine also, 25$ for one config, no openable doors, and you want the devs to make a proprietary system for 3d models, even though that would go against the whole "easy to mod" aspect of BeamNG? just, no. this doesn't deserve to be paid at all
You could even just open a Kofi or Gumroad where people can choose to donate if they want to, but you can also download it for free. In that case you wouldnt be infringing on copyright as the car itself is free, youre simply asking for donations for your work. But to charge more than the game itself for ONLY the 3D model is insane ngl
If you buy all the vehicle mods currently available from LucasBE and LJ74, it will cost you $24. Would you rather buy 5 great mods or spend another dollar and buy one copyright infringing Scintilla Mesh Slap mod? The answer is obvious

It looks like a cool mod, it really does, yet… I already dislike paid mods, especially considering most of them don’t warrant their needed payment over using a free mod. Yet, even then, those usually cost like maybe, 5$? 10$ at most? You here are charging 25$, TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS, for a single mod, that quite honestly is just a fancy version of a completely free Chiron mod. Did I mention that the game itself costs 30$? You are charging basically a second freaking payment of the game for a mod, just a single car mod. You can argue about effort all you want, there are significantly higher quality mods that are free and or 5$ or less. Maybe if it was some sort of map that is the size of FH5 or something, with details at every corner and had five years of work put into it, yet this is simply just a car mod. Did I mention the legal side? Free mods based on real life cars are fine, they don’t do any harm as no one makes money off of another brand, yet this could mean consequences for the developers and potentially them having to ban the uploading of real life cars to the forums. I know other guys do it, but that doesn’t make it okay to continue the trend. isn’t this also like, your first mod? If you want to charge money for any mod, you probably want to build up a position reputation with the community before someone will even consider spending 50¢ for a mod. This isn’t meant to be disrespectful, but an informative comment as to why your decision on the price for this mod is utterly ridiculous.
i'd rather have a waffle maker and 10 dollars. in fact there are so many better things you can buy in the 25-30 dollar range that would be more worth it than this
Guys it's his mod and his rules. Frix has a 30$ / month subscription tier, why don't you go bother him by this logic? Oh yeah coz he has 400+ paid members. When there is a demand there will be supply. Stop whining if you can't afford a mod. --- Post updated --- Openables make the car more junky and more unstable during crashes. I don't want the door to be openable so can I see a lovely "simulation stopped" message 10 times more often. Nuh uh. At least make it an option like the openable mod that has been around before official implementation of this feature. --- Post updated --- EA sells the same game every year for $69 which is significantly more expensive than $25 for a new mod which currently has no alternatives by other creators in BeamNG
