yes very much so, They sure working on one. About time getting tired of the super cars, And off road stuff and modern cars ( i very much respect them ) we have not had old iron since 2019 when my favourite car ( the bluebuck ) came out, Other then the Old autobello van. ( witch i dont often use ) MORE over i think more games need to focus on old cars. I dont play other games other then beam. BUT being into old cars mostly 30s one's i loved the mods that the game had. Even the crash hard classic, Even if it is dated and did not feel at all100% right Then in 2024 i started to make shitty automation 20s cars, So now to know we getting one in the base game is a dream come true for me LOL, Also should mean new modders or modders in general who loves old classic cars ( of this vintage ) can hopefully use some assets/J-beam or even just get ideas instead of going at it from the ground up, Miss flapper;s hank truck And the everton are Ground up builts that are stunning 100% maybe the DEV team saw how much you can make some LOVELY cars and decided to make there own, I wish you luck with this lore friendly Model A ( everton )
If they plan to implement a vanilla 1930s car I wonder if the drivetrain will get some new gimmicks. Stuff like choke, gas shutoff, cold starts/rough idle (including different engine sound) until engine warms up, manual ignition advance/mechanical distributor (setting it wrong should decrease engine power, start knocking etc!). Of course just like with a simple transmission, this could all be set to be handled by the game if you don't want to finess with it, but an option to be able to do so would be groovy.
No progress since my last update, because i'm currently fully focused on finishing a big job for a client, I've been working on through the summer. After that I'll fully focus on the Everton for a while. A pity I will likely not be able to finish it before the official pre-war car comes out. Just out of curiosity, now with the news that an official pre-war car will come out, does your interest in getting this mod increase, decrease or stay about the same? I will do my best to exceed in quality to however the official car will turn out. --- Post updated --- It would be great to get these officially supported, i was already looking in if i could mod them in, but having them officially supported would be nice. I'd love to be able to shift without synchromesh on the controller.
I think it's good that we get an official one before the Everton, you may have an official JBeam to reference or base yours off of. Also, big fan of variety especially with traffic, so I'm happy.
That could be cool if in career mode we select the decade we want, like this we could have old vehicles in traffic.
I definitely still want it, the more the better when it comes to pre-war cars. You should make this your profile picture!
My interest in this mod will remain great, in fact I am looking forward to trying it out along with other cars of the era which are currently in development. Keep up the good work!
My interest for the mod very much Increases as other mods and the official car come out it will fit in perfectly with what's coming
What is the official pre-war Vehicle, Like a Beamng Official or is there something that i am missing?
Recently on the Development Media thread, the devs have been releasing teasers of things such as an older flat 4 engine, and sketches of a 1930s car similar in design to the Ford Model A
Oh i never thought i would see the day an official pre-war vehicle would be added to beamng lol, Thanks for pointing that out!
I would like to complement this any modder that I am here imported the mafia 2 map and put artificial intelligence to play with traffic
Sure, especially if you have some different body styles that the official car might not have, such as vans, flatbed or whatnot. Also (at least for me) the sounds of a car are incredible important. If your mod has a nice and slightly different sound then I will be definitely interested. Most vanilla cars just sound like vacuumcleaners and not like cars (only exception being the t-series).
Very true. It's especially interesting that the only thing the devs really hide behind some encryption are the engine sound files (like they're some hot shit), while they really don't sound that great, compared to some other "car" games out there, like Mafia (which has really gorgeous car sounds, whether it's the one from the early 2000s or the remake).
