Update Speculation thread

Ah, nice - so, that means we are getting the update before Christmas, after all. Most likely dropping in the typical holiday update window of the 9th-21st, although probably later in that period.

Here's the days in there that the holiday updates have dropped on:

0.31: Thursday
0.27: Tuesday
0.24: Thursday
0.21: Tuesday
0.18: Monday
0.15: Thursday
0.11: Thursday
0.8: Wednesday
0.5: Friday

So, there's still a decent chance of the update dropping on, say, the 12th, as the devs tend to drop the holiday update later in the week than their usual ones (Tuesday or Wednesday).

That is true, but the creator_program branch shows that the update is coming within about two weeks - sometimes, it's been about a week or so.

 

not always. I remember that a major update dropped and after 1 or 2 week the qa_stable updated.

 

Usually we have one last teaser showing a complete car just before the update, so I'm guessing we'll have a Teaser Tuesday and the update will drop on Wednesday/Thursday

the first letter of every word spells "Rally Incoming". Teaser Thursday???

 

Maybe a rally update with that rally Miramar and some other cars

Would be interesting if there would be teaser Tuesday, when update probably releases Wed to Thu next week, based on statistical estimate which may be quite far off, but I do best Wed, but I do keep Thu as a backup.

And speaking of backups, NOW is good time for all of us and you who have some map or other work done, to backup your user folders, so that update would not ruin your hard work.

Way too many map mods have been cancelled because of no backups, why game does not offer backup option with migration wizard is question I see no answer, but it would make good sense to have such option.

Meanwhile, better make those backups manually.

That would be then more rally. Rally is good.

In fact, I just backed up this wip Ouninpohja rally stage, which I thought of converting from RBR, might not become a release due permissions and quality issues, but surely enough it is quite different experience of BeamNG when you do an actual full length rally stage.

Now, if I recall correctly, there was some post mentioning they would be working on better support for larger maps, now we are speculating about rally, so what do you think would be chances of getting a actual length rally stages within next release?

Atleast for me, the game still keeps the old files once a new update arrives, but you have to transfer them to the new folder tho. Regerdless i do agree, map projects should be backed-up every 1-2 weeks.
Without backups i would've lost all progress on my first map due to a powercut.

 

Now that we have that "rally incoming" tease, I see the hints in this message...
