I think you've got the perfect balance right there ! They look awesome imo ! Really well made and period correct ! --- Post updated --- Quick question : are you going to implement a sunroof option ? I know the vanilla Pessima never had one but you know like me that sunroof were peak luxury back in the day lol
Why not use the door handles from the 1996-2000 Pessima for 2000-2002 models and the current door handles from this mod for a facelift from 2003-2012, Also, it looks more like a second gen than a refresh, so why not just call it the MK3 Pessima?
Because it isn't a third gen Pessima. It is still closely based on the second gen Pessima, to call it a new generation makes no sense. The entire point of this mod was for it to be a facelift, and I am absolutely not going to change that.
Are you going to add some speakers grills in the door panels ? Always surprised me that the vanilla car didnt have any lol
To be honest, just by changing the quarter windows shape the tools to make the quarter panels would need to be redesigned, basically requiring the same work than to make a new whole quarter panel for a next generation car. That alone could be considered a new generation, even though in game, it is a slight remodeling. If you look at the MK7 and MK8 Golf, they are based on the same platform, 90% of its mechanical bits are the same/ interchangeable and the only real changes are on its skin. So if the Golf MK8 can be considered a new generation instead of a heavy facelift, your car can too, from an engineering standpoint. Imagine if you are Ibishu. You make very expensive changes on the Pessima's metal body (new quarter panels, new hood, new trunk lid, new fenders and probably more that I couldn't notice on the pictures) and you still call it a facelift? Toyota changed less of the latest Camry and still called it a new generation (as they did to the Corolla and probably to the Camry before). Overall, it make real sense to call it a new generation. Would it be a lazy new generation by Ibishu? Yes. But it make a lot more sense to call it a new generation than to call it a Facelift. Usually, facelifts change plastic parts (bumpers, grilles, lights, and MAYBE interior). Major facelifts might change the hood shape and fenders too. If you change the quarter panel's shape by redesigning a window's shape, that's way too expensive to not call it a new generation, unless that window is the only change (maybe caused a design defect).
