For quick contexts, I have tested this in unmodded, different builds/ versions, the works, been like this since day 1 for me with this laptop.

(Big messy screenshot of all sorts of things)
    upload_2024-12-23_16-33-45.png

Summary; I9-13900HX, max speed 5.4 ghz, Taskmanager say thats whats being done, Beam only says it can run up to 2.42 GHz, Beam only runs up to 2.42 GHz EVER, and I get terrible performance even on lower settings, such as low (sub 60 with Ai WC). Often hitting CPU bottleneck, through the beam graphs.

So my question is, is there a way to utilize the full potential of the CPU? Or altelast more of it'll say that its using all of it in taskmanager and in beam, but the numbers differ, and taskmanger including background tasks.

Nothing adds up, and theres no way this is the best this game can be ran on this laptop (yes laptops suck, I was dumb, and still am in the pc/tech world, but I know more now). Idk if is bc Alienwares software + Windows breaks things, or if im forgetting to tick a box or something.

Any ideas, and help is much appreciated. And I can try and clarify things when needed.

It says you have a FPS limiter enabled. Is that intentional? Try running the game with no FPS limiter and Vsync off.

The limiter was from being tabbed out, normally set at 105,
I'll try vsync off and see what that does,
Update: w/o vsync, I gained a couple frames, noticable, but bounding around 50-60fps at 1200p, low settings with these specs are dperessing

Isn't 2.42 the "base speed"? The task manager's speed is the current CPU speed

Yes, but when using beams built in performance graphs and functions, It will only run up to 2.42, and when I just did some more testing, I can see that when I get the CPU bottleneck alert in beam, the CPU isn't always at max utilization (through taskmanager). It often hovers at 30% through and alienwares performance ui. The odd thing is is that nothing is max utilization (ram, gpu), and I can still only average 60 fps at a low+ settings, with some slight tweaks.

Did you try running the game in Vulkan? Also with 0.33 the exe was renamed, make sure to check your Nvidia driver if it uses the GPU for it

How about using HWINFO and read the "Core Effective Clocks" on Sensors? That value could be more useful than core clocks as when the utilization is low some cores are "parked" in a way similar to "cylinder deactivation" on cars
