It would be interesting if the Grand Marshal received content including body options since every other Gavril vehicle apart from the Barstow, Bluebuck and MD-Series, is fully remastered and loaded with different customization options and features. Cheers! :)

With all this talk of remasters, it would be criminal not to mention Burnside. That car has so little content that it almost feels like its a mod demo, along with interior that looks far worse than Grand Marshall's.

The Burnside isn't doing as well, but at least it actually has textured doors. The Sunburst just looks worse every update.

Yeah, the seat textures are horrible and the manual shifter is very low poly. I can't believe the state of it

Sure, but Burnside is largely forgotten as this thread shows.

The GM already has a solid list of parts for it - a new bodystyle (like an estate) would be nice to see would be nice to see, and it might not require a new frame to be built (which would increase the chances for something like that to happen). However, as I mentioned in this post, the devs tend to have only two of each type of vehicle, and there's already two estates in the game (LeGran and ETK 800).

I do hope the Burnside gets remastered sooner rather than later - maybe this year, with all the classic-car focus? But I feel like the new rally mode would mean that the Miramar and Sunburst would have greater priority for a remaster.

    Speaking of the Sunburst...

Yeah, it's quite a shame that one of the most commonly-used and commonly-modded vehicles in the game (at least, at one point - the FCV has likely replaced the Sunburst for many people) has gotten so little attention over the past couple years. If there's one post-1975 car I think has the best chances for a remaster this year, it's the Sunburst, due to the rally mode.

Also, the T-Series is the first vehicle built pre-1975 (at least, with the current model years) to receive a remaster - the oldest vehicles to receive one prior to this are the Bolide (1981) and Pigeon (1980), and I think I know why. The previous remasters have all been released with new vehicles, map remasters, or new game modes:

-Grand Marshal: Bluebuck (both are large, body-on-frame, live-axle US saloons from the same brand - and they both have hydraulics now)
-D/H/Roamer (0.18-0.21): Utah/Small Island/Port/JRI remasters (all three are commonly used for scenarios on those maps), increased off-road focus (Hopper Crawler, D-Series Crawler)
-LeGran: Wendover (the two cars share many parts with each other)
    -Pigeon: Wigeon (ditto), Gridmap V2
-H-Series/'96 Pessima: New mission system (both vehicles feature quite often in missions)
-Bolide: ETK DEC remaster (the Bolide features in at least one test in the "Driver Training" campaign)
-Covet: Career mode (it's the tutorial car in that game mode, and one of the three starter cars you can get)
-K/800: ATT refresh (the K-Series got a racing version that fits nicely on that track)
-T-Series: Deliveries in career mode, WCA additions, MD-Series
    -BX: Drift mode updates

While there have been updates with some drag or rally stuff in the past, there hasn't been as much focus on those as in 0.34 - and those will probably get more focus in the next few updates (certainly the rally mode). So, therefore, there's been little reason to remaster the Moonhawk/Barstow/Burnside or Sunburst/Miramar/'88 Pessima (although the latter did receive new parts in 0.33) until now.

I wouldn't be surprised if they make a seperate drift mode, they might just be looking for somebody who has a true passion like how dirtwheel has a clear passion for Rally

I love using the Burnside, it's not forgotten, it just isn't a high priority on my personal list. While it needs some work, other cars definitely need it more.

If anything, getting to drive the nine has made me realise how upmarket and advanced the Burnside Special is for its era.

It's pretty much just as fast and handles just as well as a bluebuck, despite being 10 years older, and it massively outpaces any of the factoy spec Nines, even a V8 roadster.

As many people have suggested in the past, some kind of pre-facelift or lower trim model, with older generation flathead I6/I8 engines would give a nice "rival" to the performance of the nine, for the likes of vintage races and period police chases.

I sincerely hope the Burnside does get some attention. It's the only '50s American car in the game and that decade has so much potential. Think of a big finned late 1950s luxury car in Beam...that would be outstanding. Like a 1957-1959 Imperial or a 1959 Cadillac.

So, I wanted to see if this was actually true. I decided to use the WCA Short Race Circuit (2 laps) as my benchmark track, and used the Bluebuck L6 2-Door Sedan (M), Burnside V8 (M), and Nine Deluxe Coupe (M) to see how close all of these vehicles are in performance.

The first go-round, the Nine was the quickest (as I drove that last and had more experience with the track by then), the Burnside in the middle, and the Bluebuck the slowest (since I drove that first).
    Nine-Burnside-BluebuckTimes1.png

I ran them in the same order (Bluebuck -> Burnside -> Nine), and their positions flipped. The gap also was a lot smaller (~1.3 seconds vs. 3.6 seconds). Also, the Burnside blew its engine before the line due to overheating, and I had to briefly coast to the finish line at ~60 km/h. I think I could've gained 2-3 seconds if the Burnside hadn't overheated, but that's still not absolutely smashing the Nine (which has about half the horsepower with a much older chassis and suspension design). Maybe the Burnside has the L6 Bluebuck and Deluxe Nine beat for peak performance, but the latter two vehicles have far better endurance (especially the Bluebuck - that thing could probably drive for 40 laps at full whack and still not overheat the radiator).
    Nine-Burnside-BluebuckTimes2.png

I still agree that an earlier version of the Burnside would be nice - the Olds Delta 88 kept practically the same wheelbase from 1949 to 1953, as did the Mercury Eight from 1949-1954, so there is precedent to using the same frame for five-six years in this era. However, from what Gabe's said in the past, Burnside started life in 1953. But seeing as its end of production isn't true anymore (due to the banner at Johnson Valley), I don't know if the start of production is true, either. upload_2025-1-8_19-7-28.png

I do agree that the Burnside's quite lacking for content - it doesn't even have a four-barrel carb for its 313 V8. We do have the frame for a late-'50s Cadillac-esque car sitting under the Bluebuck, so, there is the possibility we could get one with a Bluebuck remaster or refresh (much like how we got the Wendover/Wigeon with the LeGran/Pigeon remasters). I doubt we'll get a Bluebuck remaster any time soon, though, as that's fine relative to cars like the Moonhawk or Sunburst.

I was making a custom Sunburst build, but discovered something. The stock fenders don't allow mudflaps to be installed. You can have them on the stock rear bumper, but not on the stock fenders. Which made me think.

With career mode we've gotten so many options for cargo transport on everything from the T-Series remaster, MD-Series and new and improved trailers, to even the Scintilla getting a roof rack.
We've also just got a massive implementation of police lighting.

But what are some parts that are more oriented towards personalisation? We already have a few such as the aforementioned mudflaps, but there's also aftermarket lights, tow hooks, aerials, little dinosaurs, and pasta-based hood ornaments.

So are there any detailing parts that should be added, or available on more vehicles?

My first thought was more sun strips/windshield banners, including more variants for the Bolide's sun strip (or just having it support liveries/blank colours like the ones on the Covet and the older Pessima). More opaque headlight covers like on the Covet and I-Series would also be much appreciated for all-out track builds, as well as yellow headlight covers on certain cars like the K-Series, Scintilla, and SBR4 for modern endurance racing.

Other than those -- I said it once and I still stand by it -- the Dreid C70 wheels are technically recolourable, but not nearly to the degree of other wheels like the RallyPros, because you can't adjust the roughness or metallicity, and lighter colours like pure white get darkened a bit. If for any reason this is intentional, I'd love to know why. The C70s, especially the 19x12 size, are a solid choice for modern racing wheels performance-wise, but I'm always disappointed by having to paint them black or dark grey for them to look palatable. At the very least, an alternate non-paintable gunmetal/silver version would be a more attractive colour choice.

are we getting a police update?

that would be a perfect time to implement that in career
as well as the spike strips in roadblocks

Also we recently got police configs and accessories for almost every car, i guess they're in the process of expanding the police experience (idk how to say it lol)
