I think there are other things at fault.

Well it seems that 99.9% of GPU support issues on any forum relate to an AMD GPU, so I believe my point was justified. I genuinely dont know anybody using an AMD GPU who has not had issues with it. I genuinely don't know anybody using an NVidia GPU who has had issues with it.

    Well now you do!

Never had a problem with any of the AMD gpu's I've owned, drivers are simple to use and install and have worked right away everytime.

    Re: General discussion chat

I have had 3 nvidia cards and a single ATI one (yeah it was a while back). The ATI card full on died. The first Nvidia one probably still works (tnt2), the second one was nothing but issues for its lifespan (GTX560ti) and the third still has pretty bad performance issues in certain games (GTX 970). I must be one of the least lucky people on this forum when it comes to GPU's.

So out of 4 GPU's i have only had a single one that managed to last its entire life span without causing endless headaches. If only all cards were as reliable as my old TNT2

Then my friend had an EVGA GTX 460 and it stopped one day and prevented the computer from booting. He now runs a R9 270 and hasnt had any problems with it at all other than PhysX in borderlands 2 owning his CPU since its a tri core AMD affair.

Honestly, I prefer Nvidia. I've had problems with both. My 650ti had some weird issues and I used to have a pair of 7750s that just wouldn't Crossfire. I'm happy with my 270 right now.

I have had more issues with Nvidia but i have owned more nvidia based products. So all i am willing to say is that they both seem to be pretty crap. At least Intel integrated graphics are reliable and don't ever seem to have any weird issues, they may be slow but they do actually work.

I can say that neither of my AMD cards have had any issues.

I've been messing with computers for 20 years, never had a single piece of hardware fail in a 3-6 year upgrade frequency except a brand new 40gb hdd back in the day. I come on here and see all this talk about hardware "going bad" like computers are old cantankerous jalopies. I don't get it.

Failure rates on computer components are apparently quite low, so i have no idea. But only two of the issues were out and out failures (the ATI and 460). The 560ti is still in use in my PC and seems to be stable since i figured out an nvidia driver work around that prevented it from crashing. It doesn't drive any displays now anyway so its all good. The 970 is just dodgy drivers.

Same, the whole time I've been working with computers I've had one part fail, a power supply blew out on me (stupid idea on my younger self to buy a cheap PSU...) but that's really it.

Yeah, exactly. The only PC parts I've had fail on me are a cheap 500w PSU (It was caked with dust on the inside) and the GPU in my old laptop. (It was an Nvidia chip known to fail after 1-2 years anyway.)

    -4 mobos
    -3 PSUs

The only PC part that ever failed on me was a 9500GT, which I pretty much found laying about. And a motherboard.

    You delicate little flower.
I can assure you that you weren't hypothermic in 34 degree weather, especially huddled up in a sleeping bag.
And any idiot that knows how to make a fire will be warm at 34 degrees, though.
