Group T4 Dakar Rally T-Series Link to Beta on Repository - HEREEver wanted to drive in a big rally like the Dakar Rally? Well how about in one of the biggest classes there is? This thing is ready to blast across the desert far too fast for a truck this big. *BETA* Please give me feedback and I am currently looking for help fleshing things out. See below for things I'm working on/could use help with. Better 4WD Better/full offroad suspension Working lightbar on cabcage(currently in the mod, but breaks) Liveries Opening side panels and back panels JBeam fixing Steering and axle strength. (steering will eventually misalign and 4L can destroy front axles) Credits: Subarishi_Motors - Original tire model Beam.NG - Original JBeams, parts, materials, and anything else I didn't butcher Myself(Googolplex/MerlintheWZRD) - Everything else Current work happening: Front cage/lightbar modeled along with air intake protrectors. Need to work on the Jbeams for these before they are ready to be put in the mod. Spoiler: Original Post Sometimes, hitting the desert in a large truck is more fun. I am working on a Group T4 version of the T-Series, using the Kamaz T4 as my most prominent reference. View attachment 1196775 Below are the first models with the shape beginning to take place. I'm mostly happy with how the modeling is going, but the JBeam portion will take some time. View attachment 1196773 View attachment 1196774 Here is the first somewhat working test I had in the game, but this was far too custom, and I couldn't get much working correctly. I wanted a fully custom frame and nearly was building everything from scratch. That was the wrong way for me to go about it. View attachment 1196772 Now, here is my new test in the game. I've started over on the JBeam front, and it will work straight from the T-Series instead of being its own entity. This has proved to work a bit easier and, in the end, will hopefully help me push this mod out nicely. View attachment 1196771 Starting from the rear, I have used the tandem fifth wheel frame as a base, converting to a single axle suspension. Of course, it's an offroad suspension with custom 21x12 wheels. The first version will most likely be RWD with the full offroad suspension, and then I will get to the 4WD, but once I get the RWD version working, I will start finishing up the visuals before converting to 4WD. Also, it will be leaf suspension only until I figure out how I want to add better shocks and have the leaves as helpers. Let me know what you think and if you have any ideas. Spoiler: Update #1 Currently have both the front and rear suspension in place with the wheels and tires. Next up is to get the RWD running gear in its proper place. For now it drives, but seemingly no brakes and steering can break at full lock. View attachment 1196901 Spoiler: Update #2 Most things are in the proper place and I've begun working on the body visuals. Things are starting to come together nicely. View attachment 1198323 Spoiler: Update #3 I will be slowing down on progress for the rest of the month due to work. The current plan is to finish the body and ensure the materials are decent enough. Once that's complete, I'll look at a beta release. After that, I'll work on the proper 4WD version, opening body panels, and some proper skins. Let me know what you would like to see. Spoiler: Update #4 Visuals are getting much closer to where I want them. From here, I just want to add the right and rear walls before finishing up the drivability portion, which should just be fixing up the brakes. I'm looking to upload the beta this week. Spoiler: Update #5 New custom tire for the T4. Original model by Subarishi_Motors. Edited slightly and texture by myself. I suck with textures and UVs, so this will probably be the final version for now.
Thank you, I'll shoot him a message and see what he's cooking up to see if maybe we'll be different enough or possibly work together on something.
I currently have the front and rear suspension in place. Wheels and tires are good. The brakes aren't working, and the steering breaks at full lock. Check out the spoiler in the main post to see an updated photo. Lots of work to go.
Current status Exhaust and fuel cells are in place. Steering is no longer breaking. I need to adjust the rear suspension and add the body to add weight over the rear, as without it, it's pretty much driving on ice everywhere.

thing looks pretty sweet, however some custom tires rather than the screamers would look nice. i've got a tire i was originally making for my dakar mod if you'd like to use that. it's a little rough, and it doesnt have textures so if you decide you might wanna use em you'd have to texture them and possibly edit them a little bit
I'd love to try making those work for my mod. I want to say, though, if you think those are rough, you'd think half of my work never even started, haha. I'd edit them up a bit, as the real Kamaz T4 tires are somewhere between the Screamers and yours, so I'd probably try to get them somewhere in the middle.
naah man, your work looks pretty solid to me lol. but, if you got discord then I could go ahead n send you the model for the tires n such

Beta is now released and attached to the main post. My day job will ramp up for the next few weeks, so much fewer updates will be happening. Please give feedback and advice. I should be back at full pace in the second week of February.
