It's a Catch 22, they can't show us content or we'll get impatient. But if they don't, we'll get impatient anyway.
Interesting but still far too early compared to the idea we had about a city car. Still, this could be an early attempt at an electric car in Beam! Would be interesting to see how such an electric car works in the sim!
Sorry to post so much, ( Got to love how my Autism focuses on cars and beamng to much lol ) Anyway's been a year since last remaster While i want a burnside/moonhawk remake/master, I vote/think sunburst, ALSO that could be a GREAT career starter, not to meany IRL would start of with a German car. ( my brother's first car was a W201 witch he still has to this day ) BUT not often, However a remade little sunburst. With a boxer,,, We know you cant get the RS as a first car. so you get a FWD base 2.0 boxer. and could( ugh ) rice it out, Could be a great starter. That or the mk2 Pessima. PS i LOVE the ETK.s the I-series is like a XF falcon mixed with other IRL cars i love.
A longitudinal unibody Full-Size SUV could be based on the Bastion, as the old Bulwark mod showed us. Plus, like I said, Bruckell could also make a modern FWD Midsize Sedan and an SUV on the same FWD platform. Back to RWD, ETK could be making some RWD Midsize (European Segment E) and Full-Size unibody SUVs (European Segment F), since it has the ttSport 4.4 Twin-Turbo V8 (and the 3.0 turbocharged gas/diesel I6s as the sane options). Plus why not make a modern ETK I-Series too? A Midsize Sedan/Wagon on the same European Segment E platform! The 4.4 Twin-Turbo V8 (along with the turbocharged 3.0 gas/diesel I6s and the "190" and "250"/"230" 2.0 turbocharged gas/diesel I4s for the European market) has plenty of potential and the beloved ttSport Heritage Edition, with RWD, the Twin-Turbo V8 and the manual transmission (like in the K-Series), could also be made for the modern I-Series!
A sunburst remaster is definitely needed, as it’s one of the few remaining cars that haven’t been refreshed/remastered in years What would peak my interest is rather a more “modern covet”, similar to the EK9/EK6 Civics - I think the devs want to finish remastering the remaining vehicles one or two at a time before focusing on bigger aspects of the game, considering it’s “alpha” status it’s had for almost a decade by now. And that’s what it is - with all the content added it’s to my personal belief that they need more staff to work on things that isn’t their main objective, to help balance the content already in game. (Sorry for my long rant haha Beamng team this is totally not a staff application) To be fair though, an update is an update, and I’ll be happy either way. On another note, I think most of the props need new textures, but other than that I’ve pretty much said what I want to say. Beamng has come an incredibly long way, and in present time I think none of us would believe a game about softbody physics could achieve this much. I’m proud of the Beamng team, if that means anything lol. At least the game isn’t “literally unplayable™”
the sedan and SUV idea is cool. I'd love to see them release sister cars like the taurus/explorer on the same platform.
Yep, parts sharing is a great way of making vehicle development easier. Now, I'm not saying that the BeamTeam has an easy task every time they develop a new car, but having some parts already available (like the floorpans, the powertrains, the suspension components, the wheels, the tires, the seats, the steering wheels, the gauge clusters and the Driving & Safety Electronics module) does help expanding the roster, either that of a certain lore company or the roster in general.
I assume most people here already know this, but the lansdale, wendover and legran are all on the same platform. if you turn them over they're almost identical underneath.
It would also be cool to get a compact version of the Bastion based off the 2015 Dodge Dart, and imagine if we got a Rennspecht ETK fullsize SUV based on the Mercedes GLS that even came with the bounce mode the real one has.
Uhh... due to the Bastion's drivetrain layout (longitudinal, predominantly FR), a downsized version wouldn't be a Dart so much as a BMW 2- or 3-Series.
The Dart was built on a Fiat platform, i don't know enough about platforms to imagine whether it would with the Bastion's or not
Really? Gonna have to check it out! edit: Yep, it's true! And it's also true of the modern ETKs! So brand expansions for these two brands can definitely be based on their existing floorpans!
what are you guys hoping for next update? im hoping for a huge brand new luxury suv or just anything new lol
I think we might get a DT40L refresh. After all, it is one of the older vehicles in the game (introduced in 0.12), and hasn't seen many updates since release. I say refresh because is currently in good condition, all that needs updating is the interior. We could possibly see longer or shorter variety of the bus added as well. --- Post updated --- Also, fun fact: The WCUSA Bridge was also unblocked during that update. It had been there since 0.11, but was accessible in 0.12. Of course, it was also updated in 0.30 to go to Spearleaf Island instead of a small looping tunnel.
