Hello all, wanted to make a thread for all my race track maps. This will be dedicated to any "small maps" that are just the race track and do not contain any surrounding area for FPS reasons and simplicity of creation as well. Below will be an updated list of the tracks I have made and the associated mod links for each. Happy racing Panorama Ranch Built in the deserts of California in the late 1950s, this track continued the operation of professional and global events into the early 70s when the dangers of the track, which then became too large to ignore. Today the track still hosts track days and local club events on the shorter course, but with no safety improvements it is a blast to the past and a memoir to a bygone era of speed and danger. The main course is 4 miles and is based on/inspired by 4 real-world tracks of the 1950s and 1960s with all the thrill and danger that come along with that. From the infamous Daiichi corner of Fuji Speedway to the esses of Riverside, the unique crossover layout of Paramount Ranch, and to the hills of Willow Springs this circuit is the dream of my 1960s American racing fantasies. https://www.beamng.com/resources/panorama-ranch.33497/ Photos:
Mod is submitted to the repository it’s just not verified/public yet. I’ll post the link as soon as it’s published
It seems like there's an issue with the repo version, the sun is very... blue. I tried in safe mode to make sure it isn't any other mods, and it happens in both DX11 and Vulkan renderers. Other than that the map is epic !!
It's a great test track for seeing how agile and fast vehicles can be. Planning on adding any more quickspawns?
Noted. Looking into why. I probably didn't update the time of day settings properly --- Post updated --- Not really no, but I suppose I could add one to the pits/garages and the oval course.
I'm not a fan of the time trials being locked behind a paywall, as they're a core part of any circuit map, especially one without lots of freeroam roads. It should really have [DEMO] in the title if those cost extra as the map just isn't complete without them.
Not really no, Understandable. You can always use the "hotlapping" UI app to keep track of your lap times though
Any hotfix for the blue sun yet? Normally I wouldn't be so impatient, but with the scenarios being paid content it's kinda weird that such a big problem hasn't been fixed yet.
there you go, press F11 then in the search bar top left type "sun" click on the option "sunsky" then on the right side panel under "scattersky" change the color of "sunscale" to whatever suits you then click ctrl+s to save and F11 to leave edit mode.
That's the first thing I tried, it resets the sunscale any time I change time of day or play the day/night cycle and I can't save the changes, so I have to fix it every time I load the map. Again, I'm not saying it's an egregious error by any means, but it's the kind of thing I wouldn't expect if I were, oh I don't know, specifically paying for endurance racing scenarios that would benefit from a day/night cycle.
--- Post updated --- --- Post updated --- I would also recommend the CK Dynamic Skybox mod on the repository, both as a quick fix to the current sunsky issues but also makes any map modded or vanilla look 100x better
Aaaah, makes sense why only some people have the issue. I personally don't use that mod just because the skyboxes are locked to one time of day (also it conflicts with volumetric clouds ), but it looks like just having it installed fixes the map. Definitely buying the mission pack now! Also, thank you for offering a one-time purchase rather than requiring the subscription. (Just gonna say though, the repo page says less than 1 cent per mission, but 28 missions at $2.50 is almost 10 cents per mission. Still worth it imo, but literally false advertising.)
I would also recommend the CK No problemo! Subscriptions for one-time purchases are annoying and borderline predatory on those who have a bad memory. I appreciate the support too Yeah that's just bad math on my part, not intentional false advertising at all.
Not for this track, as it is meant to be 1970s themed. They are planned (and in place) for my next more modern circuit release, though.
