I know for Windows, your custom configs are stored in your userfolder, in the "vehicles" folder. I'm pretty sure it would be the same location on Linux as well (I have only used Linux Mint a few times so I could be wrong).

Looking deeper into it it seems that the Linux version lacks the user folder at this time and is already a know issue. Without the user folder I'm unable to add custom configs so that's kinda a bummer. Hopefully it's fixed in a future update.

There is a userfolder on Linux, look in https://www.beamng.com/threads/linux-port-–-feedback-known-issues-and-faq.86422/
The only known issues related to the userfolder are just lack of launcher and no automatic version to version migration

Ah, alright. I didn't have a lot of time to dig super deep into it due to having to go into work but once I get off I'll try to look for it again. Thank you

Yep, /home/user/.local/share/BeamNG.drive/0.34/vehicles is where the file location for custom car configs is at.
I've transferred my cars but they don't seem to work in the game and it just loads in the base model. it may be a formating issue with the flash drive I used so i will try again later and come back with results or solutions if I find one.

Only because you are not yet familiar with the file system on Linux. The user folder on Windows is also "super deep"(it's hidden by default)

What you can allways do to find the configs location is to write one. Create a config with a good name, save it and search your system for that (including hidden locations).

The Linux file system is case sensitive and the game seems to be looking for the config files only in lowercase. I had to go and rename all the configs so that they do not contain uppercase letters.
You can use the command rename 'y/A-Z/a-z/' * in a Terminal to rename all files in that directory at once (only run it in a directory where you want all files to be renamed, e.g. in vehicles/pickup).
