That is intentional. I found the default traffic behaviour way too slow. So if traffic is started the parameters will be automatically adjusted by the map. That is experimental for now. I encountered that it creates a good cruising speed on the highway. Of course they will never go 360km/h. That's only the limitation. It should be possible to change the values with the vanilla traffic app again if needed. You can create screenshots in BeamNG (see menu) and then they are to find in your userfolder/screenshots. Convert them into JPG for best use in the forums, imo. --- Post updated --- Outstanding. The pictures you make are top++. I absolutely love them. So what I will do right now: jump into the map, play, and work on to make this playgound as beautiful as I can. Motivation²
I've been waiting for a map like this for years... Mega props to Barbent for making something so awesome, if the map we have now is just the alpha, i'm super exited to see what the version 1.0 is gonna look like!
Yeah you are right the AI traffic really makes more sense the way you set it up, and thanks for the tip, I will definitely try it out. Also I cannot express how much I love this map, you did such a good job on basically everything. The only thing that is keeping this map from being perfect is it being new and not finished. Keep up the good work, this project will definitely go a long way.
Direct private jet service to the raceway for VIP sponsors? Why, of course that's available; everything is possible in Barbent's Homerange! Whether or not it's a good idea in a nation where everyone with two coins to rub together can bribe the safety officials is another question entirely...
Still just cruising around Homerange and seeing what I find, thoroughly enjoying the Rural / Farmland scenery.... and the mixture of Grass and Gravel types and Colors on and beside the roads is the 'Gold Standard' (personal opinion)
CK's Sky mod seems to fit perfectly onto map! Some day I will implement dynamic weather + changing cloud density + shaddow adjustment, based on the map's own cloud system, but that will not interfere that much with the Sky mod, I hope. Additionaly the map will have a userfriendly method to switch off its own dynamic weather and thus being neutral to any other sky mod.
There are a some places in the map that are not finisched(Alpha version) so I think he is going do that work on the map, and will update this map for us.
What's next: It's been over three weeks since the map was uploaded for approval. Of course, I haven't just slept during this time - LOL. So a lot of places have already been worked on and new ones have been added, more roads, better AI paths, many details such as better road markings, better intersections, plenty of new, illuminated lanterns, new mountain and desert routes, a drivable reef, a new harbor, the largest, further hundreds of beautiful embankments and so on. Since I don't work systematically but let myself be guided by creativity, the work is spread out over the whole map. Also some parts of the railway* and a new rally cross track will be added. There'll be more LUA functionality like day time dependent sounds or a fully automated drag race procedure. Optimization will be at center of my work. All of this and very much more (about five times) will be in the next update. This update will be a very cheap but paid "Pioneer's Update", as I described on the download page. I have to do it this way because you are now enjoying the fruits of over a year's work and I have to finance it somehow, otherwise the project has no future. As you may have read, this update will become free after a while, and then there will be a new "Pioneer's Update". The absolute final version will be free on the repository, this is guaranteed. There will be a new thread for the progress of the update, again with lots of pictures and information. However, there will also be a small free service update in which a few small details will be fixed (also the spawn point pics) and it will automatically come to you through the repository. The idea, should anyone have it, of nitpicking about the concept or questioning it would be, in my opinion, a sign of the least respect. Given the way some people here in the partially toxic forum think, I really hope you understand my position. Please be patient and friendly, like most of you are. Happy playing * Sneak Peek: I've found a way to implement an automatic railway junction, which is direction dependent. It is not prop based, thus very performance friendly. This makes it possible to "sort" trains into railway stations to different platforms or to have turning loops and so I'm able to have some interesting railway routes. But that is future music. --- Post updated --- I love them !
Youve really outdone yourself with this map, it is phenominal! looking forward to what you will cook up next
This is great 'BSGT'...have to cycle through all the Skybox presets to find the right one as all maps including yours have a slight problem where the far distant landscape area fog color does not match the Skybox color at the horizon line...not a deal breaker though. Keep up the great work.
Man... I have to say im totally in awe with the racetrack. Still learning the corners and breakpoints but i will post some laptimes soon And just driving around with traffic on, cruising around these beautiful landscapes is so calming. Had to take care of some traffic accidents since the AI likes do some crazies and crash at every given opportunity. LOL I hope you enjoy these quick screenshots i took.
is this set in a particular country/region? ive tried to figure out, and im getting at somewhere in europe (drive on right, kmh, seemingly another language on some parts "sadolit" (maybe it is english, i have not heard that word and google doesnt help) just asking so i can choose a good number plate design
You're right, the traffic is drive on right and the signs are like in europe, but I didn't had any particular country in mind because of the different biomes. The map is more fantasy and distances are squeezed. Basically Homerange is open and not so country based. There are some old border check points in the scenery but in my mind the countries opened their borders between each others. The checkpoints are nowerdays used by racing enthusiasts . So if you like you can also make some fantasy license plate designs, maybe bit like european ones. If you like you can also use some graphics or colors from the D-Series Homerange livery if they can be good for that. Feel free for anything.
It would be fun if you place name sign's for some of the industrial places, and farms, like Woodpecker Bros INC or some thing, and Winch Hook Farm or so, gives more realistic feelings to the map????? A plate to the buildings, and to the entrie's of that company's? Maybe you or I can make some skins for those company's, would be fun.
Glad you had fun on the racetrack ! Important Hint: All the measurings from the Airtona Racetrack Stopwatch is also written into the console and into your BeamNG log files. So if you finished a couple of laps you can go back into the pits and view your measured times in a relaxed way: Open the Console Window (check your keybinding for that) Filter for "airtona" If you open the beamng.log (to find in your BeamNG userfolder) with a text editor you can also search for "airtona" and copy&paste your race times of the session into a spreadsheet or where you want. Even the measurements of older gaming sessions are to find in the (older) log files.
mfs acting like ai image place holders is gonna kill them they are just keyboard warriors with literally no braincells other than the tinfoil hat telling them that the world is gonna be taken over by ai cause a beamng map has it --- Post updated --- these iq levels literally couldnt get lower and you look like a giant pussy two birds with one stone. and the fact this map is massive so him cutting corners once aint gonna kill ya
