    In 1956, Polonia, a subsidiary of Burnside, built a 1 off, 2dr coupe, with cooperation of Tasti-cola. Built for 2 reasons, first to be presented to the winner of the final big race of the season. Secondly, to hopefully drive up their car sales. It was painted like last season’s winning car. Powered by a not yet in production 334 c.i., supercharged straight 8, a new motor for the newly updated model (not yet in production yet) Burnside Aero Coupe. No other vehicle had this motor installed, other than a few test only vehicles. Saturday afternoon after practice for Sunday was done car was secured at the track for the night. Sunday A.M., the detail crew arrive to prep car for presentation that afternoon. The car was nowhere to be found.

    Fast forward, 2021, a 86 year old widow living in a small seaside village most of her life, married in 1956, passed away, her husband died 16 yrs earlier and the kids quit coming around. He treated her well, and had only 1 rule, don’t go into the garage, leave it locked. No problem, she never had a license anyways. All the outside chores for several years were taken care of by a young neighbor boy, who had just turned 18 before she passed. The widows Will stated everything went to him!Guess what was in the the garage!!!

    Oh yeah, her husband just happen to be one of the security guards the night the car was stolen......
    don't know the story on the Caddy!
