Yeah and 99% of the time they start arguments that get entire threads shadowbanned. I just mentioned Lichi because he’s the most rude backseat moderator. He’s the main reason I rarely post in on-topic forums and one of three people I have ignored.
By definition a shadowban means that a user’s post is deleted without any notification. Contrary to popular belief, it has nothing to do with automated moderators.
Honestly as much as I’m glad the moderation team is 100% human, it really makes me mad knowing that somebody on the mod team doesn’t have a sense of humor.
And they don't take mockery lightly too IIRC Cheekqo (or was it another member) got banned for mocking Nadeox1 and tdev he wanted to get banned, so it's not an good example and also because that's not why exactly he was banned And that other thread which I can't remember the name got deleted because they mentioned tdev
cheekqo was banned for a good reason, and what he got banned for exactly i can't say here. and he wanted to get banned anyways.
It was EUDM fanboy’s forums out of context thread. The message for the deletion was, and I quote, “no, thank you.” I’ve heard most of the original devs were pretty rude in the RoR community so all this surprises me less and less.
Tbh the forums need better moderators. A lot of things that break forum rules take 2-3 days to get banned. To ban derar it took me 20+ reports on every message that infringed any forum rule to get him banned. Some reports even had imgur links with proof which the mods didn't even bat an eye
I remember I reported DERARX and he got a warning for it. I knew because he DM’ed me about it lol. In all honesty the moderators do give a bit too many second chances.
If an user is getting like 10+ reports per day by different users then the mods should look an bit deeper into the case They should also get rid of the "No meme threads" rule too since I don't think anyone has asked for it nor respects it
How is this not obvious to the moderators? I’m not sure. I doubt the rule is anything but a suggestion at this point since there’s like at least three or four meme threads.
They just probably got fed up with the amount of reports they were getting about derar (which, speaking of derar has created an alt lol i'm not sure what account it is but he himself said it)
If they got fed up there’s a simple solution: Ban the guy. Also where did he say he made an alt? Isn’t that against the rules under any circumstance (which I see as a dumb rule if you’re not trying to sockpuppet or evade bans but I digress)?
