https://www.beamng.com/resources/pbr-rock-island.34047/ I began remastering the old dry_rock_island map I already updated terrain and foliage to new pbr assets, roads and buildings are still work in progress
En Looks really good, but I thought you should focus more on the German maps because they are really cool but still looks good DE Sieht wirklich gut aus, aber ich fand sie sollte sich mehr auf die deutschen maps konzentrieren weil die echt geil sind aber Sieht trotzdem gut aus
I was playing with the original on an old version of the game, it's a really fun map and I'm glad it's getting updated.
AWWWWW YEAAAAH! Also, will there be time trials? It should at least have them on the dirt track, but hopefully rally routes as well.
It seems simple at first, but over time things broke in a lot of stupid ways. e.g. : the old decal files no longer work, so I had to read Torque3D source code to decode the .mis.decals file and resave it in the current .decals.json format. xD --- Post updated --- yea i try to restore them, where there even time trials as dry rock island became depreicated? there a lots of race related prefabs but no quickraces.
Keep the roads bumpy. It's one of the main reasons I still use this map, to test the suspension of different vehicles on the winding roads.
yea not touching the gameplay, jsut upgrading the visuals ^^ so roads are still pothole ridden trash xD
I think the ambient sounds are currently too loud, especially since I'm almost certain they got louder since I first played the map in 2016, and the devs didn't change a thing; a game update must have changed how it interprets the set loudness values. I can't wait to revisit the remastered Dry Rock Island in a remastered Moonhawk and recreate in 2025 (6?) graphics the KurtJMac video that first introduced me to BeamNG.Drive. Unfortunately I fear that the latter is still a long time coming; the fact that it has continued to get tweaks and nerfs (for Malaise era realism) in every recent update suggests that a remaster is not planned in the near future or else these adjustments wouldn't be a priority.
A lot of things where broken, decals where gone, blending for roads was wrong, lighting was weird... So wouldn’t surprise me if the sounds were also wrong, I was just happy that still worked and didn’t look deeper into it xD
Just asking, I'm fine too with the old ones. Just the ocean sound which is way too loud even from a distance.
