Good so far. Ever since the last update on this thread, not much has been done, as I was working on a huge update for the Wentward Transmission Pack, and also working on some engines, such as the new D2066, and the soon to be finished DC9. There has been some work done though, I have added auto levelling suspension, with custom sounds taken from an O500LE. Also I have added a real life Voith LP90 air compressor with real life stats, and am working on custom sounds for brakes, indicators etc. This is the thing I am stuck on at the moment, so any help will be greatly appreciated! The main limiting factor in general is my limited skills with materials and UV unwrapping specifically, so for the time being, the UVs are just going to be very small versions of the originals, so unfortunately skins wont work, but custom colours will. If anyone has some tips or advice/tutorials to give, please let me know. I want to make this vehicle somewhat good! --- Post updated --- An articulated version was never on the plan, so unfortunately no. Reason being is because A( There was never an articulated version of the real life bus B( An articulated version seems way to hard to do, especially at my limited skills of vehicle deformation JBeam. it may come later, but I personally dont think it will. It was only planned to be a rigid, 12m standard bus, and that is my main priority
I'll add you soon --- Post updated --- That wasn't on the agenda, I will make the body first, then add special versions later on after it's done
Are you consider making a ETK Bus based on the Neoplan N4016 and MAN NL 202 when the Wentward Endeavour is released? or do you have other Plans?
I might, I was planning to release this, with many different Configs that make use of my engines and transmission pack, such as an old version with a ZF 500, an old CNG with a 502c, a new with an ZF Ecolife or Voith, and a new CNG with an ecolife. It is of course going to be compatible with all my other engine and gearbox mods though. As for another vehicle, only time will tell
BeamNG Update #2 After quite a long time not working on this mod, as I was working on engines and the transmission pack, I have done quite a lot of work First, I've fixed the material errors for the panels. Now theyre all the same colour, and they do change colour with the paint picker Secondly, glass for the side windows and windscreen is starting to come along, looking good Thirdly, I have got the steering wheel in! This took so long, around 2 hours, just to get the prop working, because the origin point was off-center and I didnt know you could move it And fourthly, I have got the enclosure for the top desto in! Unfortunately, I cant seem to get the actual screen to work at the moment, so that'll come later I also have done some small JBeaming and materials work, which took quite a while too. Thank you for your patience! --- Post updated --- Edit 7:32 PM Both sides for windows and window frames have been completed!
Hi everyone. I've got some news (It isn't bad, in a sense). No, the project isn't abandoned and no, it still works and isn't corrupted. I just wanted to let you all know that development will be done in slower steps now. Reason being is that the main SSD in my laptop, (which holds the Windows OS, all the programs, documents and data, including the BeamNG userfolder) is starting to get to that point where it might fail. I know that the remaining life is an estimate from SMART data, but it could be true, since theres nearly 90TB written on a 240GB drive, and the drive is nearly 5 years old. For all we know, it could continue to work for another few years, but I am going to prepare for if it does happen. Luckily, I do have all my BeamNG mods, documents, blender files and VSTs backed up onto an external USB stick, so if the drive was to fail, I wouldn't be out entirely, meaning that I can continue progress on these mods. But for now, any progress made is going to be smaller progress, which basically means that I wont be doing big 4 hour development sessions. The reason for this, is because I backup at the end of a session, so if the drive was to fail during a session (hopefully not) where I made a lot of changes and additions, all of the progress would be lost, which means I just wasted 4 hours of my life and have to do everything again. I am not going to be taking any chances and risk losing many hours of work, so any development sessions are going to be smaller ones, where I don't do as many changes, so if the drive was to fail, not much would be lost. Now, in the event that the drive does fail, the laptop is fully unusable until I get a new drive and reinstall Windows, which means that when that happens, the project will be dormant for quite a while, potentially over a week. However, if that is to happen, I will tell you all and let you know, and give an update when I do get things up and running. I hope you all understand. Thank you for reading. If you have any questions or tips I should know, please comment! Thank you TLDR: Because my drive could fail, smaller development sessions are happening now, so I can backup more frequently at the end of them, and keep the backup more up to date
There are going to be a few trims yes, from different generations, and theyre going to make use of my transmission pack and my engine mods. Four early confugirations: Diesel - Mercedes OM447HLA Engine 250HP/ZF Ecomat 5HP-500 - Mercedes OM447HLA Engine 250HP/Voith DiWA 864.5 CNG - Mercedes M447HLAG Engine 235HP/ZF Ecomat 5HP-502 - Mercedes M447HLAG Engine 235HP/Voith DiWA 864.5 These early configurations use older engines and gearboxes, aswell as lose the interior display, driver assists, map on the dashboard and TC/ESC Six late configurations Diesel - Mercedes OM936HLA Engine 300HP/ZF Ecolife - Mercedes OM936HLA Engine 300HP/Voith DiWA - Mercedes OM936HLA Engine 300HP/ZF 6HP-604/C CNG - Mercedes M936G Engine 300HP/ZF Ecolife - Mercedes M936G Engine 300HP/Voith DiWA - Mercedes M936G Engine 300HP/ZF 6HP-592/C These are the most modern with an Euro 6 powerful engine, modern gearboxes, advanced systems, dashboard map, driver assists, interior screen and TC/ESC Also there are chassis only configurations too, which are the same as above, without the body. I was also thinking of a party bus config too, with blacked out windows, no seats, and lights inside, but I'm not sure. Any questions, dont be afraid to ask!
Just as a question, when do you think there is going to be a wip beta release? (if it will ever get one)
Hey there. Not much has change from before, as I didn't do a lot of work, as I didn't want to lose it all because of my laptop's failing SSD. However, I have recently built my new PC, so I will be able to work a lot more, because there isn't a worry of losing all my work, because the SSDs shouldn't fail (hopefully). I will release a WIP beta once its in a drivable state, which I don't know how long that will take. The doors are going to be the hardest to .jbeam
The Lions City L is a pretty nice bus. My favourite bus is actually the MAN 18.310 A69 chassis with our own Bustech VST body, so it seems that MAN is a mutual favourite
Glad to see we're getting our first Australian Wentward mod In BeamNG! Please, let us know when this one is released if that's ok with you. In the meantime, I'll got to be patient
I will be sure to let everyone know when it's done. Quite a lot of progress has been made recently as production has resumed, so a devlog will be uploaded soon
Nice. Any chance of yellow rear EU plates? Also any options for career mode cargo (despite it being for left hand traffic, and West Coast USA being for right hand traffic?
