Hello, I purchased the BeamNG Alpha earlier today, but when I ran it I had terrible FPS at around 7-15 FPS. I turned all the options to the lowest settings which made everything look worse (as expected) but did not improve the FPS at all. I have a decent computer, and understood that this would be a GPU Intensive game, but I had no idea the FPS would be this bad. Any suggestions to help improve FPS? (Please don't just say "Get a good computer" as I understand that would help, I just don't have the funds to get a new one) Also, where can I find the instructions for the game?

    Thanks, Arc

If it's a laptop, you should get a better computer. If it's a desktop, try overclocking. I just set my CPU to 3.6GHz rather than the stock 2.9 and overclocked my GPU a bit more and got an extra 8-10 FPS.

Did you turn off the postfx stuff? That usually helps a lot.

Open the post fx tab (have to go into the world editor, or from the options, and disable SSAO, if it still isn't running very well put lighting on medium or low, then as a last resort lowest should give a dramatic FPS boost.

hmm, I'm using a laptop with a GeForce 230m at the moment while I'm away from home. I get fairly decent FPS turning off basically all the post FX.
