PIZZA PLANET TRUCK MOD PLAN: So here's the sitch'... I've never IN MY LIFE been into modding before, but I have been into 3d modeling with CAD software such as FreeCAD and Onshape. You read the title of the mod, the mod is planned to be a near-perfect mock-up of the 1978 Gyoza MKIII Light-Hauler Pickup, or the "Pizza Planet Truck." Currently, I have no modding experience, so why am I making a post about making a vehicle mod? Because the 1978 Gyoza is really something, as a mod, that I look forward to seeing in BeamNG. YES, I know that there are already 3D models out there. However, looking at them, they don't really take the exact shape from the actual vehicle from toy story, mainly because Pixar never bothers to release any 3D models, obviously for copy right reasons. So how am I going about obtaining a 3D model? Well here is how: I'm not. What I AM going to do is use referencing from the movie, and a Christmas ornament, the one in he given image, that takes nearly the exact shape from the truck model itself. I'll probably have to purchase one, and then use what I can to determine its geometry and shape to get a near-perfect model. Now my main source of 3D modeling, like mentioned earlier, is CAD software such as FreeCAD or Onshape, however, a lot of people use blender from what I've seen, and there might be reason to, considering implementing j-beam requires taking triangles from the topology, if I am correct. Things to note: Now I am very aware that there might be some copy right issues, and I'm not sure if I'll even be able to go through with this mod because of that. Which is why that I am currently looking into it. In the mean time, this post is a explanation of my thoughts on getting this vehicle into a real working mod for BeamNG. Things I will have to do in order to start working on it: - Start learning how to make an actual mod, probably using BeamNG's tutorial or online tutorials, or help from the community. - Start learning Blender and the mods that are fitting for modding in the BeamNG community - Start learning JSON, an essential programming language vital for BeamNG vehicles. - Managing time to getting around working on this mod. - Planning. Planned Configs: -Stock config -Beater config -Abandoned config -Classic config -Bed-less config -Dragster config -Drift config -Sand Hill config (Saudi Arabia/UAE) -Sand Dragster config -Mud Bogging config -Monster Truck config (Future config, too big of one at the moment) -Derby config -trophy config (Also probably too complex, leaving for future) -Track config -Workhorse config -Utility/Service config -Box config (Asian Market) -Flatbed config (Asian Market) -Open-Cargo bed (Asian Market) -Pizza Planet config -Dually config -Camper config -Offroad camper config -Expedition config -Turbo Burger config -Slammed JDM Show Car config -Crash Test config -Jato Ram-Plow config Features: I put them all in the attached txt file so I didn't have to take more space in this post. As you can see I have a lot of ideas... but are they plans? I haven't figured that out yet. Keep in mind, I have NO modding experience, these are all merely just ideas at the moment. When I START modding, I have to consider outside-of-modding things I have to take care of such as life-priorities, and implementing all the features and everything I mentioned earlier. If someone ELSE would like to attempt to try and make this mod, that'd be awesome, however, in the mean time, it's my responsibility... if I'm even taking it. If I DO release it, it might be an early access with not much in it for experimenting and feedback, and I'll have to update it as I go. As of now, that's all I have to say! I'd love the community's feedback, suggestions, and ideas on this potential mod!
would love to see this in BeamNG.drive one day, but I'm scared because Disney might sue if you do make it
Slightly updated feature list: --- Post updated --- Disney prob would, cause they own pixar. But thousands of people have used the pizza truck already, so they probably wouldn't care.
Image of a stock variant I spotted in TS2: View attachment 1242424 Strange, on the pizza planet truck, the gas cap is on the BACK of the bed. This one is NEAR the cab. Odd? --- Post updated --- U meen all the accessories and stuff? Prob. --- Post updated --- Nah, trying to make this Pixar canon... but maybe.
Yeah! --- Post updated --- Are you experienced with modding? Just curious if you have any other tips or ideas. --- Post updated --- I'll be damned... --- Post updated --- Nevermind it's just some stupid collectors website, I can't extract the model.
Did you though? The rules do in fact say that you must have a certain amount of progress (for example the model in game or the model completed)
