Hi friends! Please don’t judge too harshly – I’m a bit of a noob when it comes to modding and creating content. This is actually my very first mod! From time to time, mostly for my own fun and gameplay needs, I tweak or build upon maps, vehicles, or scripts that you’ve created. And now, I’ve finally decided to upload and share one of those – a long-ago reworked version of my favorite plane. (Link to the original author: https://www.beamng.com/resources/strato-hmx-920-aerobatic-aircraft.39/) If I’m not mistaken, the original mod is based on the Zivko Edge 540, a plane known for its amazing aerobatic performance in Red Bull Air Race events. So I thought – why not have something like that in the game? Even though I put together the skin a bit clumsily (Photoshop, sorry! ), I also added some new parts to improve the plane’s maneuverability. I replaced the engine sound with one that, in my opinion, sounds the most like the Lycoming IO-540 during gameplay. The mod is far from perfect – it still carries some known bugs from the original, like the overly “wobbly” fuselage, and after a crash, the engine sound sometimes stays at the crash site instead of following the plane. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to fix these issues (or when), but honestly – they don’t ruin the flying experience for me. Hopefully, they won’t for you either! Updated controls: A – Rudder Left B – Toggle Smoke System Right Arrow – Aileron Right S – Throttle Decrease D – Rudder Right Up Arrow – Elevator Down Left Arrow – Aileron Left W – Throttle Increase Down Arrow – Elevator Up Home – Trim Up End – Trim Down Delete – Toggle Trim Mode Wishing you awesome flight stunts and smooth skies!
Hi friends! I finally managed to create a new engine control logic, so here's an update! As planned, I've added throttle control via holding a key — meaning, if you hold W, the engine revs up; if you release it, the RPM drops. (Throttle Handle Power Control) The standard throttle control (set a constant percentage of thrust) is still available too. Check out the new control keys. This is a change I’ve been planning to implement for a long time, and I finally pulled it off. Personally, I play using a keyboard — and for me, this control method is ideal. Thanks to quick throttle response with a single button, a whole new world of maneuvers becomes possible It’s definitely fun! In the next update, I’ll finally add the Monster livery (I think it’ll give the plane a more aggressive look), and maybe a couple of liveries of legendary RB pilots. Have a great flight and awesome turns! W – Throttle (Hold to increase, release to decrease) T – Throttle Increase (Standard mode) G – Throttle Decrease (Standard mode) A – Rudder Left D – Rudder Right → (Right Arrow) – Aileron Right ← (Left Arrow) – Aileron Left ↑ (Up Arrow) – Elevator Down ↓ (Down Arrow) – Elevator Up B – Toggle Smoke System Home – Trim Up End – Trim Down Delete – Toggle Trim Mode P.S.: Are you going to post this under your name too, Antonkrd1?
Modland reuploaders reupload all sorts of stuff, that's how we end up with 10 copies of the same exact mod uploaded by different people
Exactly, but this particular scoundrel doesn’t understand the meaning of the word “theft” and even demanded proof of my authorship Moreover, I uploaded this mod to both ModLand and here at the same time. But the moderation process here took a very long time, so ModLand gets the priority.
Don't waste your time on him, I'm sure it wasn't personal, he just does that to everyone. Meanwhile other people appreciate your efforts!
Thanks! Not yet, am currently getting the hang of modding I do plan to fix various existing issues with this aircraft, experiment with it (everything from new textures to new engines and even adding a cockpit dummy, etc.). So for now – just learning. But if anything comes up – ill definitely share it right away! --- Post updated --- Maybe you can advise me on this – if I end up reworking this aircraft (fixing bugs, making new textures from scratch – since the original ones are, frankly, pretty rough – updating the engine, adding a cockpit dummy, etc.), would I be allowed to make it paid (just for a symbolic $1–2, since honestly, that does add a bit of motivation)? The thing is, I didn’t create the original model or the base aircraft, so it's technically not mine. But I suspect it would be very hard – if not impossible – to get in touch with the original author.
First of all I barely know ANYTHING but know some parts and I wud be happy to help u in some sort of way but I think we wud be both be learning but I wud be happy to do dat --- Post updated --- Also i am just getting the hang of modding aswell to
Since it's a fix not a full new mod, I don't think so. But if you made a new aircraft entirely (cessna 152 plssssss), you could put it on KoFi for free but with a donation also set up, then people can choose if they want it for free or want to pay you for it.
alright, thanks for the advice frnd! A 152?(By the way, I think I saw a 152 on Modland — pretty sure about it.) Wouldnt it be better to go for something like a 12-cylinder fighter — a Spitfire or a Messerschmitt, maybe? Honestly, what surprised me more is that there still isnt a big cargo “guy” like a Hercules or the Mriya, with a loading ramp you can drive into. --- Post updated --- https://www.modland.net/beamng.drive-mods/planes/cessna-120.html
