what they really need to add is that if we hold V even after the engine starts, the engine will be destroyed. it makes starting the engine far more realistic
They mean the smooth gauge needles and backlighting. There are conflicts between the smooth lighting and needles and pre-existing animations like indicator stalks which is why they're not on all cars at the moment; that and having to make new textures for vehicle lighting.
do you guys think we will actually get a Hopper remaster for v0.37? because I do not know anymore (other things that we could get are a DT40L remaster, a Moonhawk refresh, or a Barstow refresh)
Not much damage is done when you keep holding. What does mess things up though is if you initiate the starter when the engine is already running.
The devs like to have a balance between vehicle revamps and new vehicles. We already had 2 remasters back to back in 0.35 and 0.36. It definitely is possible we get another remaster in 0.37, but probably unlikely. Here's a list of all the updates since 2022. I'm not including updates that include minor refreshes, additional content to existing vehicles, or part 2 or 3 remasters, essentially things that are not the main focus. 2022 0.25 - 1 new vehicle 0.26 - 1 remastered vehicle 0.27 - 5 new vehicles (special occation) 2023 0.28 - 2 refreshed vehicles 0.29 - 1 new vehicle 0.30 - 1 new vehicle 0.31 - 1 vehicle remake 2024 0.32 - 1 remastered vehicle 0.33 - 1 new vehicle 0.34 - 1 new vehicle 2025 0.35 - 1 remastered vehicle 0.36 - 2 refreshed vehicles 0.37 - ? 0.38 - ? By seeing this pattern, we can almost assume that the next update(s) will include a new vehicle. Basically, if there are no delays, and we get 4 major updates a year, 2 of those updates will have revamped vehicles, and the other 2 updates will have new vehicles. It's not a perfect pattern, as we've seen in 2024 with the MD-Series and the Nine releasing back to back, and in 2025, where the Sunburst and Burnside/Miramar got remastered. I don't exactly count the MD School Bus and armoured trucks as "new" vehicles, as they are technically new additions to an older vehicle, which was promised to receive more content anyway. Vehicles left to be remastered from oldest to newest: - Bruckell Moonhawk - Hirochi SBR4 - Gavril Barstow - '88 Ibishu Pessima - ETK I-Series - Ibishu Hopper - Wentward DT40L
Honestly, with the Miramar and Burnside being thrown to the side with more configs to play with- *cough* sorry, refreshed, the next answer for a remaster or refresh would be the Hopper. The lights look like they haven't been updated since they were released, and the configs generally all feel the same. However, based off of how we've gotten two refresh/remaster updates this year, I think 0.37 will be a new car. Hopefully they cave in and finally add a modern Ibishu, but I'm not holding my breath. Also, 800th message, yay!
you're probably right. but what could this new car be? still a mystery it is... either a modern-day Ibishu or a modern-day Gavril
They could use the 3 cylinder engine from the Hirochi Aurata in a new small modern hatch under the Hirochi brand inspired on a Mitsubishi Space Star or a Suzuki Swift. That'd be cool!
Following the rally theme, id love to see a mk2 escort but done in dev's style to match the appropriate brand.
